It’s time for the first ever FE double header in the Monegasque principality, with FP1 for the Monaco E-Prix about to start. Who will end the session ( and the day ) on top? Maybe last year’s pole sitter Pascal Wehrlein? Or will instead championship leader Oliver Rowland return to a more impressive performance after his P10 in the Miami E-Prix?

Early stages

All cars immediately went on track at the beginning of the session, led by reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein.

A brief full course yellow flag simulation was up next, to ensure the correct functioning of the system.

After the first set of attempts, Porsche leads with Da Costa setting the first lap inthe 1:43s. However, times in the FE FP1 session at the Monaco E-Prix are quickly changing. Evans lowers the benchmark to the 1:42s and Maloney sets a 1:41.111s

After the first ten minutes of the session Nissan takes a strong lead, as Rowland signs a 1:33.333s, as Müller clips the wall.

Halfway point of the session

With 15 minutes to go, Wehrlein leads in 1:30.300 from Ticktum and Evans. Will it be a second win in a row for the reigning FE champion after his Miami gold and his pole with Porsche in the past season?

With 9 minutes to go in the FE FP1 at Monaco E-Prix, the entire top three is dominated by Porsche powertrains. In fact, Ticktum, who has won at the track in Formula 2, leads from Dennis and his Kiro teammate Beckmann.

Frijns made slight contact with the wall, and was later impeded at the pit exit by Mahindra’s De Vries. The former Formula 1 driver then signed a 1:28.000s, good enough for P2.

In the finals heated moments of the session, Wehrlein finds his way up to the provisional podium.

McLaren’s Barnard. returns to the track where he debuted in the past season after scoring 4 podiums in the first 5 races of Season 11.

Ultimately Cupra Kiro ends the day on top with Ticktum in P1 with a 1:27.510s, only 0.004s away from reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein and ahead of De Vries in third.

Tune in in a couple of hours for FP2!
