Australian rising star George Proudford-Nalder will make his GB4 Championship debut with Douglas Motorsport during the 2026 GB4 Winter Series at Snetterton later this month.

The 16-year-old from New South Wales joins the team following an impressive first full season in single-seater racing. He finished fourth in the 2026 British F4 Championship standings, securing three victories, two additional podiums and two pole positions throughout the campaign.

Proudford-Nalder will now look to carry that momentum into his first appearance in GB4, where he will join series returnee Conor Grant in the Douglas Motorsport line-up. The Winter Series offers the Australian another opportunity to gain experience in a different single-seater category as he continues his progression through the junior motorsport ranks.

Proudford-Nalder targets strong GB4 debut after British F4 success

Proudford-Nalder established himself among the leading contenders during the 2026 British F4 season, regularly challenging at the front of the field despite entering his first full campaign in single-seaters.

His breakthrough victory came at Silverstone, where he also claimed both of his pole positions. He subsequently added further wins at Donington Park and Croft, demonstrating his competitiveness across different circuits. Alongside his three victories, he secured another two podium finishes to conclude the championship fourth overall.

With a successful British F4 campaign behind him, Proudford-Nalder now turns his attention to the GB4 Winter Series. Although he has yet to compete in the championship, he hopes to build on his recent experience and contribute to Douglas Motorsport’s strong form.

“I’m very thankful for the opportunity to compete in the GB4 Winter Series with Douglas Motorsport. The team have had a very strong year and I hope that I can add to that over the course of the weekend. I can’t wait to get started!”

Experience across multiple championships strengthens Proudford-Nalder’s development

Beyond his British F4 commitments, Proudford-Nalder also gained valuable experience in several European single-seater championships throughout 2026.

He contested the final two rounds of the Formula Winter Series earlier in the year, securing a podium finish at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Additionally, he competed in the Italian F4 Championship at Monza in June before making an appearance in the opening round of the E4 Championship at Vallelunga.

These additional outings allowed the Australian to experience different circuits and competitive environments, complementing his full-season British F4 campaign.

Before stepping into single-seaters, Proudford-Nalder began his car racing career in the 2025 Ginetta Junior Championship. He finished seventh overall during his rookie campaign, collecting podium finishes at Oulton Park and Croft alongside multiple Rookie class podiums.

His progression from Ginetta Junior into British F4 has demonstrated his ability to adapt quickly to new machinery. Consequently, his upcoming GB4 appearance represents another opportunity to expand his experience as he prepares for the next stage of his racing career.

Douglas Motorsport expects Proudford-Nalder to challenge at Snetterton

Proudford-Nalder joins a competitive Douglas Motorsport line-up for the Winter Series, where he will race alongside Conor Grant. The returning driver already has experience in GB4, having secured multiple podium finishes during his rookie campaign.

Together, the pair will aim to deliver strong results for Douglas Motorsport at Snetterton, combining Grant’s existing knowledge of the championship with Proudford-Nalder’s recent success in British F4.

Team Principal Wayne Douglas expressed confidence in the Australian’s potential, highlighting his impressive adaptation to single-seater racing during 2026. Although Proudford-Nalder has yet to gain experience in GB4 machinery, Douglas believes his ability to learn quickly will help him challenge towards the front of the field.

“In his first year of single-seaters, George has shown that he is a very talented driver, and we’re excited to be joining forces with him for the GB4 Winter Series. While he doesn’t have any experience of the GB4 car just yet, he’s also proven to be a quick learner, and everything points towards him being a front-runner at Snetterton.”

The upcoming Winter Series will therefore provide another test of Proudford-Nalder’s adaptability as he tackles unfamiliar machinery against a competitive field. Following a promising progression through Ginetta Junior and British F4, the Australian will look to conclude his 2026 racing programme with another strong performance at Snetterton.
