The 2026 GB4 Championship pre-season opened in tightly contested fashion at Snetterton, where 28 drivers completed two days of running as teams began shaping their competitive order for the year ahead. Across both days, Luke Hilton and Fred Green emerged as the standout performers, each topping a day of testing in a field separated by fine margins.

While Hilton struck late on day one to take control, Green responded strongly on day two, ensuring the opening test remained closely balanced and highly competitive throughout.

2026 GB4: Snetterton Test: Day 1: Hilton strikes at the death

Hilton delivered a dramatic end to the opening day, producing a last-lap 1m40.093s to move to the top of the timesheets. In doing so, he displaced Green, who had led much of the session and ultimately finished just 0.096 seconds behind.

Behind them, Alex O’Grady secured third for KMR Sport, narrowly ahead of Dayton Coulthard, while Matan Achituv completed the top five for Elite Motorsport.

Further down, Connor Willis impressed with sixth for Hillspeed, followed by Jason Smyth. Meanwhile, Thomas Ingram Hill topped the opening session and finished eighth overall, with Enzo Hallman and Franek Cegielski rounding out the top ten.

Importantly, the entire top ten remained covered by less than nine tenths of a second, underlining the competitiveness of the field.

2026 GB4: Snetterton Test: Day 2: Green responds strongly

On the second day, Green turned the tables, topping both of the final two sessions to set the fastest overall time of the test with a 1m48.380s lap. As a result, he finished ahead of KMR’s O’Grady by just under two tenths.

Meanwhile, Hallman produced a strong showing in third, continuing Hillspeed’s consistent presence near the front. Hilton remained in contention, finishing fourth after another competitive run, just 0.355 seconds off Green’s benchmark.

Behind them, Coulthard secured fifth, ahead of Cegielski in sixth. Achituv placed seventh, while Willis and Smyth completed the midfield battle in eighth and ninth respectively. Franciszek Cegielski (listed as Franek Cegielski in entry) and Ingram Hill completed the top ten, with Ingram Hill again showing pace after earlier session-topping form.

Notably, six different teams featured inside the top six for a second consecutive day, reinforcing the depth of competition across the grid.
