Rodin Motorsport’s Christian Ho has set ambitious goals for the upcoming 2026 F3 season, aiming to deliver stronger and more consistent results in his sophomore campaign. Having completed his rookie season with DAMS Lucas Oil, the Singaporean is set to race with the British outfit this year alongside Brando Badoer and rookie Pedro Clerot.

With the season opener in Melbourne approaching, he shared with Formula 3 how preparations have been progressing ahead of the first race.

Ho explained: “I have been doing a lot of prep I think more than previous years. Last year I didn’t do much testing before the season started and this time, we had a proper pre-season plan to keep the muscle memory there and to make sure that I’m warmed up ahead of the season.”

“I also did the UAE Trophy, to keep sharp and I actually got a sim in my room now, so I’ve been doing a lot of racing to make sure that when we get to Melbourne, we’ll be ready.”

“I think with the season being so short and with how much time you have in the off-season, you need to do something to keep your muscle memory there, which is what I regretted from my first season in F3. So I feel like it’s been quite a good step, and I think the team has been working really well with me to try and make sure that I keep sharp.”

Ho: Feeling much more prepared and ready for the season

Compared to his rookie year, Ho feels much more prepared heading into the 2026 F3 season. Spending much of his time on the simulator, the 19 year-old is confident, having gained experience at all tracks — except for the newest addition to the calendar, Madrid.

“We also have the sim in the workshop as well so I’ve been over there a few times to Rodin. I’m actually going there again this week so I think it’s been a lot of prep. So I’m quite confident for this season.”

“I feel like last year I was still a bit down from what happened before. So I feel like I wasn’t really 100% going into the season. Also I didn’t know most of the tracks.”

Ho added: “I think 80% of the tracks I didn’t know. And I didn’t do a single day of testing before the season actually started. So preparation I had then was much less than I have now. I did the first race with a five-month gap between my last race and the first race of that year. So this year I definitely feel much more ready.”

Aiming to improve Qualifying results

One area Ho aims to improve in the 2026 F3 season is qualifying. Due to his struggles in qualifying, the Singaporean rarely found himself battling inside the top twelve, scoring points on just four occasions and contributing 17 out of 30 points DAMS managed to accumulate.

“My expectations going into the first round in Melbourne – I will try to take it step-by-step but for sure my first target is to qualify in the top 12.”

“After that, scoring points becomes more straight forward or even fighting for a podium. If you look at Melbourne last year with the rain, I felt like it was quite hard to overtake in the Feature Race, so if you qualify in the top three, you basically stay there.”

He reflected on the importance of qualifying, noting that strong sessions set the tone for the entire race weekend as he recalled his performance at Silverstone. Expressing optimism for stronger Fridays in 2026, Ho strongly believes that a podium is within reach.

“In Silverstone I think I qualified P11, so started P2 in the Sprint and then 11th on Sunday and in the end I got my best results of the season. At the end of the day I feel like Qualifying it sets your entire weekend up.”

“Hopefully I have a lot of good Fridays this year. I think the podium can come if I just do my job in qualifying.”
