Following the 2026 F1 Singapore GP, Racing Bulls now have 100 points to their name as they sit P5 in the 2026 F1 Constructors’ Championship, with Liam Lawson clinching a total of 10 points at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. The New Zealander had an impressive 2026 F1 Singapore GP weekend where he scored a P5 finish in the Sprint and a P7 in the main race.

Despite having a 32-point advantage over their closest rival, Alpine, who has not scored a point since Barcelona, Lawson remains wary of the Enstone outfit.

Lawson satisfied with Racing Bulls’ progress following 2026 F1 Singapore GP

Racing Bulls enjoyed a very strong triple-header in Azerbaijan, Malaysia and Singapore, with the team scoring a total of 21 points across all three races, the majority of which were bagged by Lawson himself (15).

The Faenza outfit had a much more successful run across Asia compared to Alpine, who failed to score a single point.

Alpine’s Franco Colapinto had faced two DNFs in Baku and Singapore, with technical reliability plaguing the Argentinian’s A526 last time out. His mistake in Azerbaijan when he took out his teammate Pierre Gasly cost them a bundle of points on a weekend they had far superior pace to Racing Bulls.

The Frenchman faced issues himself and had a significant race-pace deficit in comparison to Racing Bulls at Sepang and Marina Bay.

While Lawson was very pleased after Singapore, he was not getting too ahead of himself.

“Not secure, no. But I think it’s definitely, we’re definitely in a better place. We’ve managed to extend over these last few weekends. And this weekend for us has been a 10-point weekend. So yeah, it’s been good. I don’t think they scored in either race. I’m not even sure if they scored in this triple-header. No, they didn’t. And they’ve had a very, very fast car. So I think, yeah, very, very happy with the team. We’ve made all the right decisions, ultimately, through these last few weeks.”

Remaining wary of Alpine’s ability

While Lawson and teammate Arvid Lindblad have helped Racing Bulls clinch a dominant lead for 5th in the 2026 F1 Constructors’ Championship, the team’s highest result in any campaign thus far, the 24-year-old remains cautious of getting ahead of themselves too early.

The New Zealander points to the 2024 F1 São Paulo GP as his reason. At Interlagos that day, Gasly and his then teammate Esteban Ocon scored the team’s first double podium — under their current name — in a chaotic wet race.

The pair had an unexpected but impressive 35-point haul that weekend and vaulted the team from P9 to P6 in the 2024 F1 Constructors’ Championship.

Hence, Lawson shared that he will remain wary of Alpine as he approaches the final stretch of the 2026 F1 season, though he is confident in Racing Bulls’ progress.

“But not secure. Going through the rest of the year […] and a couple of years ago, Alpine had a double podium in Brazil. Anything can happen.”
