G4 Racing is one of ten teams that currently complete 2025 Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA) grid. In 2019, the Gnos family founded the team. The Gnos family sought to ensure Axel Gnos had the necessary backing and support he needed as he embarked on his rookie Spanish F4 campaign. Running as a single-car entry team throughout the entirety of the season, Gnos and G4 delivered a strong debut campaign. To mark the end of their first season, Gnos finished sixth in the Drivers’ Standings along with two podium finishes. Subsequently, the team stepped away from the regional F4 series, and instead, opted to contest in Italian F4 the following year.

Their Italian F4 campaign was one to forget for Gnos and G4, having scored only 6 points that year. Following its one-year campaign in Italian F4 in 2020, the Barcelona-based outfit announced its entry into FRECA and fully committed to the series as its sole focus. In 2021, G4 Racing’s debut left an impressive mark, having secured two wins, three podiums and sixth overall in the teams’ championship the year.

To date, the Barcelona-based team have welcomed 5 drivers this year: Édouard Borgna, Arthue Aegerter, Enzo Richer, Kacper Sztuka and Edu Robinson. As the seventh round slowly approaches, we take a look at G4 Racing’s 2025 FRECA journey so far.

Édouard Borgna (#2)

Before making the step to FRECA in 2025, Borgna raced in French F4 for two seasons. The Frenchman has taken an unconventional route to racing as he didn’t kart. After discovering his love for motorsport during a visit to a FIA F3 weekend, Borgna made his single-seater debut at 18—just seven months after his first test day.

Born in 2005, the Frenchman was G4 Racing’s first signing of the season and has featured in every round so far. The first round at Misano was a weekend full of learning and adjusting for Borgna. Opening up his debut FRECA weekend, he finished P19 in Race 1 and followed up with an improved P18 in Race 2, topping the rookie field that day. Despite walking away from the weekend empty handed, Borgna recognised that there’s still much progress to be made. After a reasonable start, the second round at Spa was a big step forward for Borgna. He crossed the line and finished Race 1 in P22. Despite a retirement in Race 2, the Frenchman found positives from his weekend and was pleased to have made a step forward with the team and his driving.

The third round at Zandvoort proved difficult for Borgna, with a retirement in Race 1 and only P22 in Race 2. Ultimately, the following round in Hungary offered little improvement, with the Frenchman continuing to struggling towards the back. The incentive of racing on home soil made the fifth round at Paul Ricard a special occasion for the Frenchman. Borgna’s struggles persisted during the sixth round in Imola, with finishes of P22 and P25 in Race 1 and 2 respectively.

Arthur Aegerter (#3)

Ahead of the 2025 season, Aegerter took part in the official FRECA pre-season test at Paul Ricard. In 2025, the Frenchman has joined the team for four rounds so far: Misano, Spa, Zandvoort and Paul Ricard. Although he joined the team for four rounds, he has only been able to complete racing mileage in the first two. At Misano, Aegerter finished P23 in Race 1 and P20 in Race 2, running just behind Borgna. In the second round at Spa, he crossed the line P26 and P24, once again missing out on points.

The third round at Zandvoort never happened for the Frenchman as he withdrew from the event. His most recent outing at Paul Ricard ended prematurely, with a retirement in Race 1 that followed by a DNS (Did not start) in Race 2. Alongside Borgna, Aegerter was one of seven rookies who have joined the grid this year. Even without scoring points, there were plenty of lesson learnt for Aegerter. His experience this season may benefit him in the future should he commit to a full-season in the near future.

Enzo Richer (#3)

Richer is one of three drivers who have piloted Car #3 for G4 Racing. The Frenchman joined the team for the fourth round of racing at the Hungaroring. In the past, Richer has competed in the French F4 and Euroformula Open Championships. In 2025, he claimed the F3R title in the Ultimate Cup Series. Unsuccessful at scoring points, the Frenchman only managed P24 and P19 finishes in his one and only FRECA round this year. Leaving the weekend, he admitted that a lack of pace had affected their competitiveness. In order to pose a challenge on others, Richer acknowledged that he would benefit from more experience in a FRECA car.

Kacper Sztuka (#3 & #35)

Ahead of the first round, G4 Racing announced Sztuka as an entrant for the opening round. Since then, the Polish driver returned to the grid with the team and joined the sixth round of racing in Imola. Amongst the G4 Racing lineup, Sztuka brings a relatively extensive single-seater career and experience compared to his teammates. The Polish driver had started karting at the age of four and made his single-seater debut in 2021. Joining the Italian F4 Championship during its Paul Ricard round, he became the youngest Polish driver in F4 history.

The following year, Stzuka signed a contract with US Racing, a team owned by Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar, where he enjoyed considerable success—most notably winning the 2023 Italian F4 Championship, narrowly edging out Ugo Ugochukwu for the title. That same year, he also emerged victorious in the Formula Winter Series before progressing to FIA Formula 3 in 2024. Joining MP Motorsport for his rookie Formula 3 campaign, Stzuka struggled throughout the year and managed only one point-scoring finish at Imola.

This year, the Polish driver took a step down and committed to Eurocup-3. In his first of two outings, the opening round in Misano was a reasonable result—having finished P18 and P13. In his first of two outings, Stzuka delivered a solid result with P18 and P13 finishes. More recently, the round at Imola proved to be a highly positive weekend for G4 Racing. Sztuka secured the team’s best result of the season so far with a P9 finish in the second Qualifying session. Unfortunately for him, front-wing damage that forced him to pit denied him the chance of scoring G4 Racing’s first points of the season

Edu Robinson (#35)

The Spaniard joined the team for Round 4 to 6 and is set to be racing alongside Borgna and Aegerter for the rest of the season. Robinson made his single-seater debut in 2024 where he competed for AS Motorsport in the Italian F4 Championship. After topping the Italian F4 post-season tests at Imola and Misano, US Racing confirmed the Spaniard for their lineup in the Formula Winter Series and Euro 4 Championship. During the Formula Winter Series’ opening round at Algarve, he claimed his maiden F4 podium where he finished P3 in Race 1. Subsequently, he followed up with a P2 finish in Race 2.

Robinson’s start with the Barcelona-based team was challenging, as he was forced to retire from Race 1 in Hungary. Having finished P24 in Race 2, the subsequent round at Paul Ricard went similarly with P21 and P18 finishes. Despite the setbacks, these weekends offered valuable learning experiences for the Spaniard. Like Sztuka, the weekend in Imola proved promising as he fought his way through the field in Race 1. Having started P20, Robinson recovered and managed to salvage a P12 finish. While in Race 2, he finished P13.

A 2025 campaign plagued by struggles

Although the team has enjoyed success in the past, 2025 has proven to be a season marked by its fair share of struggles. G4 Racing is one of two teams yet to score points. At the forefront of the team’s FRECA journey, through its successes and challenges, is Team Principal, Sporting and Technical Manager Adrian Munoz. Despite a tough start to the first six rounds, there have been valuable lessons and encouraging takeaways for the team. In a season that has featured drivers with varying levels of experience in their lineup, ample time and opportunity remains for the team to end the season on a better note.
