RPM has confirmed that Miguel Costa will join their lineup for the 2026 Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) and Formula Regional Middle East Trophy (FRMET) campaigns.

At only 17 years old, Costa is now ready to take the next step in his motorsport career, making his mark in two of the most competitive regional single-seater championships. As a result, this announcement marks a significant moment for both the driver and the team, and looking ahead, a promising season awaits them both.

A new challenge ahead

Costa, who has previously worked with RPM and is already familiar with the team’s environment, is eager to take on the challenge of the upcoming season. Building on his past experience, he is excited to continue his development and believes that the team’s vast expertise will be crucial in achieving his goals for 2026.

In light of this opportunity, Costa spoke about his move to RPM and expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season. “I’m proud and excited to be joining RPM for the next stage of my career. I already know the team quite well, and it’s a great group of people with vast experience in motor racing. I strongly believe that, together, we can grow and achieve great things.”

Costa’s previous experiences with various teams have shaped his ambitions for the 2026 season, and he’s looking forward to building on that with RPM’s expertise and guidance.

A period of transition and opportunity

In preparation for the challenges ahead, Costa is well aware that the 2026 season will bring fresh opportunities and obstacles. Alongside new cars, new tyres, and an updated technical package, the season promises to be one of transition and opportunity.

As he steps into the FREC and FRMET championships, Costa recognises the importance of adapting to the new cars, tyres, and a fresh technical baseline. With this in mind, he is ready to approach the season with a clear focus on maximising his performance and aiming for success in both series. Naturally, Costa added: “With a new year comes a new phase for everyone: the highly traditional and competitive FIA FREC and FRMET Championships, a new car, new tyres, and a fresh baseline from which to start. We’re fully focused on tackling the 2026 season and aiming for a lot of success.”

For RPM Racing, Costa’s arrival is a key move as the team prepares for a challenging 2026 season. Thus, given the team’s commitment to excellence and their track record of supporting young drivers, they provide an ideal environment for Costa’s continued growth.

With this in mind, RPM is ready to take on the challenges of the new season, armed with a fresh approach and a strong driver in Miguel Costa. As a result, the team faces the season with both confidence and ambition.
