The Euroformula Open began its pre-season preparations with a non-mandatory test at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, organised by GT Sport. Although it remains too early to identify clear title contenders, the opening day delivered a strong showcase of emerging talent.

Sunny yet mild conditions provided an ideal environment for running, allowing teams to gather valuable data. Three outfits—Motopark, BVM Racing and Neri Autosport—took advantage of the session to begin their preparations.

Motopark fielded a full line-up, including confirmed drivers Everett Stack and Diego de la Torre, alongside new recruits Enzo Yeh, Jan Koller, Wiktor Dobrzanski and Lorenzo Castillo. Additionally, Thai driver Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi joined the test.

Meanwhile, BVM Racing ran Javier Herrera, Alessandro Famularo and late addition Divy Nandan.

At the same time, debuting squad Neri Autosport focused on preparation work. Having just received its Dallara 324, the team completed installation procedures, with Aaron Ferrazzano limited to a handful of installation laps.

De la Torre sets the pace

Experience proved decisive across the four sessions. De la Torre led two sessions and ultimately set the fastest lap of the day, establishing an early benchmark. Stack followed closely, while Yeh also impressed with strong pace, having topped the opening session.

Bhirombhakdi delivered a solid performance to place fourth, while Famularo led the BVM Racing effort and topped the third session. Dobrzanski completed the top six, underlining the depth of competition already visible in testing.
