As reported by Sportscar365, the No. 69 WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO will continue its rotation of one-off liveries with a Brazil-inspired design at this weekend’s 6 Hours of São Paulo.
Anthony McIntosh will share the LMGT3 entry with BMW factory driver Dan Harper and Canadian racer Parker Thompson during the fourth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
WRT revealed the latest design on social media on Tuesday. The livery incorporates the vibrant colours and spirit of Brazil as the team prepares to compete at Interlagos.
WRT continues one-off livery rotation
The São Paulo design represents the latest special appearance for McIntosh’s No. 69 BMW during the 2026 FIA WEC season.
However, the new livery does not appear to draw inspiration from BMW’s racing history or recreate a previous design. Instead, WRT has created a contemporary look that celebrates the country hosting this weekend’s race.
The Brazilian theme will give the No. 69 car a distinctive appearance when the LMGT3 field returns to action following the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
WRT has used the changing liveries to give the entry a fresh identity at selected rounds. Consequently, the São Paulo design continues that approach while connecting the car directly to its latest destination.
No. 69 crew aims to recover after Le Mans retirement
McIntosh, Harper and Thompson enter the weekend 11th in the LMGT3 standings after a difficult result at Le Mans.
The trio retired from the double-points race after the BMW suffered a gearbox failure. That result cost the crew an opportunity to add a significant number of points during the championship’s most valuable round.
As a result, the No. 69 team will aim to rebuild its campaign in Brazil. A strong performance at Interlagos could help the crew recover ground as the championship moves into its second half.
The six-hour format will offer fewer points than Le Mans, but reliability and consistent execution could still produce an important result. WRT must therefore avoid further technical setbacks while maximising the BMW’s performance throughout the race.
McIntosh returns to site of WEC debut
The São Paulo round holds particular significance for McIntosh, who made his FIA WEC debut at the circuit in 2025.
McIntosh competed for Racing Spirit of Léman in an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo alongside Valentin Hasse Clot and Eduardo Barrichello. The crew finished on the LMGT3 podium during the Brazilian round.
McIntosh also helped Barrichello reach Hyperpole at his home race. Therefore, the American returns to Interlagos with previous experience of both the circuit and a successful race weekend.
That knowledge could prove valuable as the No. 69 crew seeks to recover from its Le Mans retirement. McIntosh already understands the demands of the venue, including its short lap, elevation changes and heavy traffic.
However, he will tackle the circuit in different machinery this time. He must apply his previous experience to the BMW M4 GT3 EVO and support WRT’s efforts to find a competitive setup.
Harper and Thompson prepare for Brazilian debuts
While McIntosh returns to familiar surroundings, Harper and Thompson will make their first race appearances in Brazil.
Harper brings BMW factory experience to the line-up and has played an important role in the development of the No. 69 crew’s campaign. Nevertheless, he must quickly adapt to Interlagos during the limited practice sessions.
Thompson will face the same challenge as he prepares for his first competitive laps at the Brazilian circuit. The Canadian will need to learn the track while helping the team refine the car for qualifying and the race.
McIntosh’s previous experience could therefore assist both drivers during the weekend. The crew can combine his circuit knowledge with Harper and Thompson’s feedback as WRT works through its programme.
Special livery starts crucial São Paulo weekend
The Brazil-inspired livery will attract attention when the No. 69 BMW takes to the circuit, but the team’s main focus will remain on its championship recovery.
WRT enters the round seeking a clean weekend after the disappointment of Le Mans. Meanwhile, McIntosh will look to repeat the success he achieved on his FIA WEC debut at the same venue.
Harper and Thompson will also aim to make an immediate impression during their first races in Brazil.
The vibrant design gives the No. 69 BMW a new appearance for São Paulo. However, the crew will hope that a strong result provides the most memorable part of its Brazilian weekend.
