The 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours brings together one of motorsport’s most varied grids. This year, the race mixes GT3 heavyweights, GT4 challengers, one-make Porsche and BMW classes, modified production cars, experimental machines and alternative-fuel projects on the same 25.378km Nordschleife layout. The class guide identifies more than 20 categories, while the participant list groups each car by race number, class, team, drivers and vehicle.

SP9: GT3 cars lead the fight for overall victory

SP9 sits at the top of the race. The class brings together FIA-homologated GT3 machinery and decides the overall contest. Balance of Performance controls key areas such as weight, fuel capacity, boost and aerodynamics, while teams can choose tyre suppliers and compounds.

SP-X and SP-Pro: the experimental edge

Next, the grid moves into its most unusual territory. SP-X welcomes concepts built specifically for the Nürburgring, including special engineering projects and cars that do not fit mainstream GT categories. SP-Pro also gives unusual machinery a home, although its engine rules differ from SP-X.
