Martinius Stenshorne delivered an impressive performance in the F3 British GP Sprint Race. He climbed from sixth on the grid to claim second place. Stenshorne’s British GP Sprint podium marked his fourth of the 2025 season.

Early progress proves crucial for Stenshorne’s podium push

The Norwegian’s race began with the focus of staying out of trouble in lap one and making a few places at the start. “I think it was important. I started P6… and then I think I was P4 after lap one,” Stenshorne explained. “And then I made my way up to P3 a bit after. So yeah, I think that was important.”

His start set the tone for the rest of the race. It became a masterclass in race management throughout the 18-lap sprint.

Strategic tyre management was key to Stenshorne’s F3 British GP Sprint podium success

The Hitech driver’s approach to tyre management proved to be the difference maker. It secured his podium at Silverstone. “I think we had not so bad pace,” Stenshorne revealed. “I was trying to play it smart in the beginning, saving a bit.

Which I think helped us towards the end, compared to Niall, who was starting to struggle,” he continued. “His pace was really fast in the middle, so I just tried to keep the DRS, and then at the end, we were not so bad.

Stenshorne credits Hitech for competitive package

The Norwegian was quick to acknowledge his team’s contribution. Their work made the strong result possible. “Big thanks to Hitech for giving me a competitive part today,” he said. This highlighted the collaborative effort behind Stenshorne’s F3 British GP Sprint podium.

Brief challenge for victory falls short

Despite his strong performance, Stenshorne had harboured hopes of challenging for the race win. This came when he moved into second place. “The first laps when I passed Theo, I was catching him a bit,” he admitted.

But the last couple of laps I was starting to struggle a bit, and he kept the pace up, so yeah, it was a bit difficult.”

The gap to the eventual winner Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak proved too large to close. However, Stenshorne remained positive about the result.

Stenshorne’s British GP Sprint podium builds championship momentum

But overall, I was really happy with our race,” Stenshorne reflected on his second-place finish. This follows his feature race victory in Austria, representing an upturn in form for the Hitech driver.

When asked about his championship aspirations following the latest podium, Stenshorne remained cautiously optimistic. “I hope so. That’s the goal, of course,” he said. “It was not the start of the season we wanted.

We’ve had some strong weekends lately, of course. Austria was good, getting the feature race win after starting quite far back then as well, so hopefully we can have another strong result tomorrow.

Consistency was key to Stenshorne’s recent podium success

The Norwegian driver’s recent form represents a marked improvement from his early season struggles. Stenshorne’s British GP Sprint podium continues this upward trajectory. “It’s two podiums in a row now,” he noted.

In the beginning of the season, we struggled a bit for race pace or the race pace was a bit up and down, especially in Barcelona. We had two good starts, but I was dropping back quite well.

At least in the second race, not so much in the first race. But yeah, from Red Bull Ring at least, the race pace has been quite good. So, I hope we can keep up that and have some more races in the future.

Stenshorne embraces F1 weekend atmosphere at Silverstone

Racing at Silverstone during a Formula 1 weekend added an extra dimension. It made Stenshorne’s British GP Sprint podium even more special. “It’s nice to race on the F1 weekends,” he said.

Of course, you get a bit more traffic on the way to the track and this kind of stuff. A lot of fans on the F1 weekends. But apart from that, you can watch their races.

See what they’re doing and try to learn from that and do it yourself, racing-wise, and how they drive in general. So it’s really nice. And also to be able to watch them go around so quickly. It’s quite nice.

Stenshorne eyes feature race success

With his F3 British GP Sprint podium secured and momentum building, Stenshorne now turns his attention to Sunday’s feature race. He’ll start from seventh on the grid. His recent consistency and improved race pace suggest he could be a strong contender.

Another podium finish seems possible as he continues his push back into championship contention. If he’s able, it would position him well for the challenges ahead in the 2025 Formula 3 championship. He currently sits fourth in the championship.
