After making his F2 debut in Baku, Martinius Stenshorne will link up with Rodin Motorsport for the final two rounds of the season, stepping in for Amaury Cordeel in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Set to join the team for his rookie campaign next year, the Norwegian will now gain valuable early experience with the squad ahead of his full-time season.
An F2 debut plagued with bad luck
Prior to his F2 debut, Stenshorne completed his second F3 campaign with Hitech TGR, finishing 5th in the Drivers’ Standings with 89 points. In 2025, he’d managed to claim two wins and three additional podiums. The Norwegian returned to the series marked a clear step forward after a difficult rookie season in 2024, where he placed 18th with 38 points. However, his stronger and consistent performances demonstrated the clear progress he’d made with the team.
When Trident refreshed their driver lineup ahead of the twelfth round in Baku, Stenshorne made his first Formula 2 appearance alongside Laurens van Hoepen, who stays with the team for the final two rounds of the 2025 season. The 19 year-old impressed immediately, qualifying 7th on debut. He even managed to run as high as 2nd in the Sprint Race before misfortune derailed his weekend. In the Sprint, an engine issue denied him the chance of claiming a podium on debut, and a crash in the Feature Race forced a retirement. Ultimately, this left Stenshorne walking away from the weekend without a race finish despite his promising pace.
A new chapter with Rodin
Stepping into Rodin colours for the first time this weekend, Stenshorne will race alongside Alex Dunne. Both drivers have crossed paths during their time in the McLaren Driver Development Programme. However, recently, both drivers announced their departures from the team. Taking over from the experienced Cordeel, the Norwegian joins the F2 grid as a promising talent, after his first taste of the series in Baku, for the final two rounds.
