American driver William Rohan will return to the GB4 Championship with Pace Performance for the inaugural Winter Series at Snetterton on 24–25 October, 2026, continuing his development in single-seater racing following his championship debut earlier this year.
The 17-year-old made his first GB4 appearance at Silverstone in August, competing with Arden Motorsport against a field featuring considerably more experienced drivers. Rohan qualified inside the top 20 and recorded a best race finish of 16th, gaining valuable experience of the championship’s competitive environment.
His move to Pace Performance follows additional testing in GB4 machinery, with the British outfit having established itself as a regular front-running contender during its second season in the category.
Rohan returns following Silverstone GB4 debut
Rohan made his GB4 debut at Silverstone on 1–2 August, joining Arden Motorsport for the fourth round of the championship.
Despite his limited experience with the Tatuus MSV GB4-025, the American demonstrated encouraging pace during qualifying. He secured 20th on the grid for Race 1 before improving to 19th for Race 2, placing himself ahead of several more established competitors in the 29-car field.
His weekend provided an opportunity to gain experience of British single-seater racing, particularly the challenges associated with competing on a busy grid and adapting to unfamiliar circuits.
Rohan had already completed several GB4 test days before his debut, including the official Snetterton test in June. During that event, he drove with Hillspeed and finished 15th overall on the opening day, having also demonstrated competitive pace in changing conditions.
The Silverstone race weekend subsequently gave him his first opportunity to apply that preparation in competition. Although he faced a steep learning curve, Rohan gained experience that he hopes to build upon during his return at Snetterton.
American single-seater experience provides foundation
Before entering GB4, Rohan began his single-seater racing career in the United States, competing in selected rounds of the 2025 Ligier Junior Formula Championship.
The American contested four races across events at Virginia International Raceway and Alabama Motorsports Park, gaining experience against drivers progressing through the American junior single-seater system.
He secured two sixth-place finishes during those appearances, demonstrating encouraging consistency despite his limited race experience. Rohan subsequently concluded his campaign with fourth place in the season finale, marking his strongest result in the championship.
Those performances provided a foundation for his transition into GB4, where he encountered different machinery, circuits and competitive conditions.
The Winter Series will now offer an opportunity to build on his experience while preparing for a more extensive racing programme in 2027.
Rohan expressed his enthusiasm about joining Pace Performance, emphasising the importance of continued development rather than focusing exclusively on immediate results.
“I’m thrilled and grateful to join Pace Performance for the GB4 Winter Series at Snetterton. My GB4 debut at Silverstone was a constructive step in what I hope is a long journey in open-wheel racing. Consistent with my approach at Silverstone, this is about continuing to build the foundation in preparation for next season, and I’m excited for another opportunity to learn from my teammates and other drivers on the grid.”
Pace Performance welcomes Rohan after successful 2026 season
Rohan joins Pace Performance following a competitive second season in GB4, during which the team regularly challenged near the front of the field and secured multiple race victories.
The outfit fielded Torrin Byrne, Josh McLean and John O’Donnell throughout the campaign, with all three contributing to its growing competitiveness.
McLean delivered several standout performances, including victory in the championship’s 100th race at Snetterton and further success during the second half of the season. Meanwhile, Byrne regularly challenged for podium positions, helping Pace Performance remain involved in the Teams’ Championship battle.
The team ultimately finished fourth in the standings with 595 points, just seven behind runner-up Hillspeed. Its performances demonstrated considerable progress following its introduction to single-seater racing in 2025.
Team Principal Sean Byrne welcomed Rohan’s arrival, highlighting the American’s encouraging performance during recent testing with the outfit.
“We are really excited to have William on board for the Winter Series. He recently tested with Pace Performance and showed a strong performance. William fits very well into the team, and we look forward to seeing his development across the forthcoming Winter Series race weekend.”
Pace Performance has also confirmed British karting talent Alexander De Benedittis for the Winter Series. The 15-year-old will make his single-seater racing debut at Snetterton, giving the team another developing driver to work with during the event.
Winter Series offers further preparation for 2027
The inaugural GB4 Winter Series will take place at Snetterton’s 300 circuit on 24–25 October, featuring two qualifying sessions and four races across the weekend.
Drivers will contest one qualifying session and two races on each day, providing an opportunity to gain additional competitive mileage after the conclusion of the regular championship.
Pre-event testing on 22–23 October will give Rohan further opportunities to familiarise himself with Pace Performance’s car and engineering approach before returning to competition.
His previous experience at Snetterton could prove valuable, particularly after completing official testing at the circuit earlier in the year.
However, Rohan will still face the challenge of adapting to a new team while competing against a mixture of returning GB4 drivers and newcomers making their single-seater debuts.
The weekend will therefore offer an important opportunity to assess his progress and establish a stronger foundation for the 2027 season.
For Rohan, the priority remains gaining experience and continuing his development in open-wheel racing. Having already made his GB4 debut and completed several tests, the American will now aim to build on those lessons as he begins his next chapter with Pace Performance.
