Brodie Kostecki secured his third victory of the weekend in Race 7 of the 2026 Supercars Championship in Melbourne.

It was a dramatic race, with drama off the line. With three retirements and multiple trips to the pit lane, Kostecki swept past Will Brown while Thomas Randle held off the field for third.

This weekend so far…

We’ve had some dramatic Supercars racing so far this weekend. Brodie Kostecki had a dominant display, claiming back to back victories in Melbourne The DJR driver recovered from a bout of illness in Qualifying to claim pole position for Thursdays race. Kostecki managed to hold off Matthew Payne and Broc Feeney and secure the win in Race Four.

Friday was another dominant display from the former champion. Kostecki was able to overcome Payne’s pole position, snatching victory in Race Five. Behind them, Feeney, Aaron Cameron and Kai Allen were caught up in collisions. While Ryan Wood secured Toyota’s first victory in the championship in third.

One of the tightest races so far this season. Broc Feeney delivered an outstanding performance in Race Six of the Supercars Championship. Holding onto his pole position, Feeney held off a charging Kostecki and Cam Waters. However, the race wasn’t without incidents as Will Brown and Wood were both handed 30 second time penalties post race.

Chaos off the line at Melbourne

After securing his first pole position of the year, Will Brown led the field off the line for the final race of the 2026 Melbourne SuperSprint. Behind him, Thomas Randle, who starts form second, looks to secure his maiden victory. While Aaron Cameron, who starts in third, will be looking to secure valuable points after a difficult weekend.

Heading into Turn 1 there was chaos. While Kai Allen and Ryan Wood made contact off the line, it was Feeney whose car was destroyed. After being nudged by Allen, Feeney was send spinning into the front of Cooper Murrays car. Feeney then went spinning into the barriers on the edge of Turn 2, destroying the back of his Mustang.

Elsewhere, David Reynolds, Allen and Wood, who was sent into the gravel, pulled into the pits for repairs. But it was Murray and Zach Bates who were forced to retire. With the safety car deployed, the clean up was mammoth with oil and debris on the road.

Green flags once again

After five laps under safety car conditions, Brown led the field away once again. The field was clean through the first few corners but it was Chaz Mostert who was starting to hover behind Macauley Jones. With one second covering the top five, it was Kostecki who moved first. This weekends top scorer passed Cameron with ease, while less than a lap later Matthew Payne passed Cameron for fourth.

On Lap 7, Kostecki made another move, this time around Randle. The DJR Driver has now secured the Larry Perkins Trophy and the championship lead. After passing Randle, Payne locked up. The Penrite driver was swallowed by the field before he pulled into the pits. Cameron once again was dropped to the back of the field, suffering tyre damage and forced to pull into the pits.

After a difficult start to the race, Allen had recovered into the top ten. While on Lap 10, Jackson Walls and Jobe Stewart came together in Turn 4, but both were able to recover.

Kostecki’s dominant display

After laps of closing in on Brown, Kostecki pulled off another dominant display. Heading into Turn 11, Kostecki forced a lock up from the Triple Eight car and took the lead. Heading into the final late, Kostecki was over a second clear of Brown. Behind them, Randle kept Jack Le Brocq and James Golding at bay.

Heading to the main straight, Kostecki claimed his third victory of the weekend. Picking up silverware in every race, The DJR racer secured the Larry Perkins Trophy for the most points scored over the Australian Grand Prix weekend. Kostecki also claimed lead of the Supercars Championship, 28 points clear of Cam Waters.

Brown settles for second while Randle settles for third. Both drivers pick up their first podiums of the season securing valuable points. It was another ford masterclass, with six Mustangs inside the top ten. Le Brocq was the highest placed Chevrolet in fourth while Mostert was the highest Toyota in eight.

The Supercars Championship returns next month with the 2026 ITM Taupō Super 440 on the 10th to 12th of April.
