Into Africa Racing by Dragon has confirmed it will compete in a full season of the International GT Open in 2026. The team will campaign its Ferrari 296 GT3 after making a partial debut in the championship last year.

During its first appearance in the series, the team entered three rounds to gain experience and evaluate the programme. Encouraged by that initial participation, the squad now plans to tackle the entire championship calendar for the first time.

The entry represents another step forward in the team’s growing presence in international GT racing.

Letlaka leads the Into Africa Racing by Dragon programme for 2026 International GT Open

South African driver Xolile Letlaka will once again take the wheel of the Ferrari. Letlaka spearheaded the GT Open project last season and remains the central figure behind the programme.

For the 2026 campaign, he will share the car with two drivers from Zimbabwe. Axcil Jefferies and Stuart White will rotate as Letlaka’s teammates across the season.

The arrangement allows the team to combine experience with flexibility while ensuring strong driver support throughout the championship.

Promoting motorsport and diversity

Into Africa Racing forms part of a broader motorsport vision led by Letlaka. The initiative focuses on promoting racing opportunities in South Africa and supporting greater diversity and inclusion within the sport.

Letlaka has been involved in multiple projects aimed at expanding the motorsport landscape in the region. Among these is his involvement in the South African Endurance Series, where he has played a significant role in the development and promotion of the championship.

The GT3 programme in the International GT Open represents another important platform for showcasing African talent and increasing representation in international motorsport.

Partnership with an experienced Ferrari team

The GT Open campaign operates in partnership with Dragon Racing, a well-established outfit based in Dubai. The team, led by Brad Fincham, has extensive experience running Ferrari GT machinery in major endurance and GT championships.

Dragon Racing’s technical expertise and operational support provide a strong foundation for the programme as it enters its first full season.

The collaboration combines Into Africa Racing’s development mission with Dragon Racing’s proven GT3 experience, forming a competitive and well-structured effort for the 2026 season.

Potential second entry under consideration as Into Africa Racing by Dragon continues expansion with 2026 International GT Open campaign

In addition to the confirmed Ferrari entry, the team is exploring the possibility of fielding a second car in the championship. Discussions remain ongoing, and further announcements could follow if the additional programme moves forward.

A second entry would expand the team’s presence on the grid and provide further opportunities for drivers connected to the initiative.

With a full-season commitment, an experienced technical partner and a mission focused on growing motorsport opportunities in Africa, Into Africa Racing by Dragon enters the 2026 International GT Open determined to build on its promising debut.
