The 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans transformed the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) standings as the double-points race rewarded Toyota and TF Sport with commanding championship gains.

Toyota claimed its sixth overall Le Mans victory after the No. 7 Hypercar defeated BMW by only 10.913 seconds. The sister No. 8 Toyota completed the podium, allowing the Japanese manufacturer to replace BMW at the top of the Hypercar Manufacturers’ standings. Meanwhile, TF Sport’s No. 33 Corvette converted a bold strategy into LMGT3 victory and moved decisively into the lead of both championship classifications.

Inter Europol Competition also secured a dominant LMP2 one-two through its No. 43 and No. 343 Oreca entries. However, LMP2 does not contest a full-season FIA WEC championship and therefore does not feature in the standings below.

2026 WEC Hypercar Manufacturers’ standings after Round 3 at Le Mans

Toyota delivered the defining result of the 2026 championship so far at Le Mans. Despite starting its two Hypercars from 14th and 15th, the manufacturer used an alternative early strategy to move both cars into the leading battle.

Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Nyck de Vries ultimately claimed victory in the No. 7 Toyota. Meanwhile, the No. 8 car of Brendon Hartley, Ryō Hirakawa and Sébastien Buemi finished third after Robin Frijns passed Buemi during the final hour.

The double-podium result earned Toyota 80 manufacturers’ points at Le Mans and lifted the marque from second to first in the championship. It now holds 132 points, giving it a 36-point advantage over BMW.

BMW nevertheless strengthened its championship position with another major result. René Rast, Robin Frijns and Sheldon van der Linde followed their Spa victory with second place at Le Mans, helping BMW add 37 points, including the bonus point secured by the No. 15 car for pole position.

Ferrari remains third after the No. 51 car finished fifth. However, the Italian manufacturer lost further ground to the leading two marques and now sits 70 points behind Toyota. Alpine and Cadillac both scored 24 points in France, while Aston Martin added 12 through the No. 007 Valkyrie’s eighth-place finish.

Standings:

  1. Toyota — 132 pts
  2. BMW — 96 pts
  3. Ferrari — 62 pts
  4. Alpine — 38 pts
  5. Cadillac — 32 pts
  6. Aston Martin — 26 pts
  7. Peugeot — 15 pts
  8. Genesis — 6 pts

Toyota’s Le Mans performance has created the first substantial gap at the front of the Manufacturers’ championship. BMW remains firmly in contention after consecutive podium finishes, but Ferrari now faces a significant deficit after failing to challenge for victory in France. Further back, only 12 points separate Alpine, Cadillac and Aston Martin.

Hypercar Drivers’ standings after Round 3

Victory at Le Mans has moved Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Nyck de Vries to the top of the Hypercar Drivers’ standings. The No. 7 Toyota crew collected 50 points in France and now leads the championship with 75.

René Rast and Robin Frijns remain close behind after finishing second for BMW. The pair added 36 points to their total and sits only four points away from the championship lead.

However, Sheldon van der Linde is classified separately because he did not contest the opening round at Imola with the No. 20 crew. His Spa victory and Le Mans runner-up finish place him third with 61 points.

Brendon Hartley, Ryō Hirakawa and Sébastien Buemi added 30 points through third place at Le Mans. The No. 8 Toyota trio consequently sits fourth on 56 points, 19 behind its championship-leading teammates.

Ferrari’s No. 51 drivers moved into fifth after finishing fifth in France. Meanwhile, Louis Delétraz, Norman Nato and Will Stevens climbed to seventh after bringing the No. 12 Cadillac home fourth following a sustained challenge for overall victory.

Standings:

  1. Toyota #7 — Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway, Nyck de Vries — 75 pts
  2. BMW #20 — René Rast, Robin Frijns — 71 pts
  3. BMW #20 — Sheldon van der Linde — 61 pts
  4. Toyota #8 — Brendon Hartley, Ryō Hirakawa, Sébastien Buemi — 56 pts
  5. Ferrari #51 — Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi, James Calado — 39 pts
  6. Alpine #35 — António Félix da Costa, Charles Milesi, Ferdinand Habsburg — 28 pts
  7. Cadillac #12 — Louis Delétraz, Norman Nato, Will Stevens — 26 pts
  8. BMW #15 — Kevin Magnussen, Raffaele Marciello — 25 pts
  9. Ferrari #50 — Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, Nicklas Nielsen — 23 pts
  10. Aston Martin #007 — Harry Tincknell, Tom Gamble — 22 pts
  11. Ferrari #83 — Philip Hanson, Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye — 21 pts
  12. BMW #15 — Dries Vanthoor — 19 pts
  13. Aston Martin #007 — Ross Gunn — 8 pts
  14. Peugeot #93 — Nick Cassidy, Paul di Resta, Stoffel Vandoorne — 6 pts
  15. Genesis #17 — André Lotterer, Luis Felipe Derani, Mathys Jaubert — 4 pts
  16. Cadillac #38 — Earl Bamber, Sébastien Bourdais — 4 pts
  17. Alpine #36 — Frédéric Makowiecki, Jules Gounon, Victor Martins — 4 pts
  18. Peugeot #94 — Loïc Duval, Malthe Jakobsen, Théo Pourchaire — 3 pts
  19. Genesis #19 — Daniel Juncadella, Mathieu Jaminet, Paul-Loup Chatin — 0 pts
  20. Aston Martin #009 — Alex Riberas, Marco Sørensen — 0 pts
  21. Aston Martin #009 — Roman De Angelis — 0 pts
  22. Cadillac #38 — Jack Aitken — 0 pts

Only four points now separate the leading No. 7 Toyota pairing from Rast and Frijns. Therefore, the Drivers’ championship remains considerably closer than the Manufacturers’ contest. The No. 8 Toyota crew also remains within reach, while the double-points result has allowed the top four entries to establish a substantial advantage over Ferrari’s leading trio.

2026 WEC LMGT3 Teams’ standings after Round 3 at Le Mans

TF Sport produced the most significant movement in the LMGT3 championship by guiding the No. 33 Corvette from 17th on the grid to victory.

The team committed to an unconventional strategy by completing much of Ben Keating’s required Bronze-driver time during the opening phase. Nicky Catsburg and Jonny Edgar then moved the Corvette through the field, with Edgar completing five consecutive stints during the closing stages.

Victory earned TF Sport 50 points and lifted the No. 33 Corvette from fourth to first in the Teams’ standings. It now leads the championship with 72 points, 32 ahead of the No. 21 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari.

Akkodis ASP Team made an even larger move through the order. The No. 78 Lexus finished second after starting from LMGT3 pole, earning 36 race points in addition to its qualifying bonus. It consequently rises to third with 37 points.

Garage 59’s No. 10 McLaren and The Bend Manthey’s No. 92 Porsche are tied on 34 points. However, both lost ground after scoring only eight and four points respectively at Le Mans.

Heart of Racing Team also advanced through third place for the No. 23 Aston Martin. Gray Newell, Jonny Adam and Eduardo Barrichello added 30 points, moving the entry into sixth place in the championship.

Standings:

  1. Corvette #33 — TF Sport — 72 pts
  2. Ferrari #21 — VISTA AF Corse — 40 pts

  16. Mercedes #61 — Iron Lynx — 1 pt
  17. Ferrari #54 — VISTA AF Corse — 0 pts
  18. Mercedes #79 — Iron Lynx — 0 pts

TF Sport has moved from the chasing group into a commanding championship position. Its 32-point advantage is particularly significant because the remaining rounds will return to the standard points allocation. However, the battle behind the leader remains exceptionally close, with only eight points separating second-placed VISTA AF Corse from the two entries tied on 32 points.

LMGT3 Drivers’ standings after Round 3

Jonny Edgar and Nicky Catsburg lead the LMGT3 Drivers’ standings after combining their Le Mans victory with points from both Imola and Spa. The No. 33 Corvette pairing now holds 72 points.

Ben Keating is classified separately after missing the opening two rounds while recovering from an elbow injury. Nevertheless, his 50-point Le Mans victory immediately places him second in the standings.

Alessio Rovera, François Hériau and Simon Mann move to third after finishing fifth at Le Mans in the No. 21 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari. They now hold 40 points, three more than Hadrien David and Tom van Rompuy.

David and Van Rompuy also collected the bonus point for LMGT3 pole position in the No. 78 Lexus. Jack Hawksworth, who joined them for Le Mans, sits separately on 36 points after helping the crew finish second.

Standings:

  1. Corvette #33 — Jonny Edgar, Nicky Catsburg — 72 pts
  2. Corvette #33 — Ben Keating — 50 pts

  23. Ferrari #54 — Davide Rigon, Francesco Castellacci, Thomas Flohr — 0 pts
  24. Mercedes #79 — Johannes Zelger, Lin Hodenius, Matteo Cressoni — 0 pts

Edgar and Catsburg now possess the largest lead across the four FIA WEC championship classifications. Their 32-point advantage gives TF Sport a strong platform heading into the second half of the season. However, Keating’s separate classification means the No. 33 Corvette’s regular-season driver line-up remains divided in the table.

Le Mans creates new championship leaders ahead of São Paulo

The double-points 24 Hours of Le Mans has fundamentally changed both title contests. Toyota now leads the Hypercar Manufacturers’ standings after turning a difficult qualifying result into victory and third place. Nevertheless, Kobayashi, Conway and de Vries hold only a four-point advantage over Rast and Frijns in the Drivers’ championship.

TF Sport leaves France in an even stronger position. Its Le Mans victory has created a 32-point lead in the LMGT3 Teams’ standings, while Edgar and Catsburg hold the same advantage in the Drivers’ table.

The 2026 FIA WEC season continues with the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo from 10 to 12 July, where the championship returns to the standard points format.
