Gamota Racing will join the International GT Open grid when the championship visits the Hungaroring for the fourth round of the 2026 season.
The newly formed Slovak team will enter a BMW M4 GT3 EVO in the Am class, with Antal Zsigo set to drive the No. 500 car. Consequently, the entry will add another Central European presence to one of the championship’s most popular events.
The International GT Open will compete at the Hungaroring from 4–5 July. The circuit, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026, has established itself as a regular and popular stop on the championship calendar.
Hrobárek builds new team around Zsigo
Leonard Hrobárek leads the new Gamota Racing operation, which places Zsigo at the centre of its GT racing programme. Zsigo already knows the International GT Open and will bring previous experience of the championship to the team’s first appearance. Therefore, Gamota Racing will rely on his knowledge as it adapts to the series and its competitive Am field.
The Hungarian round also gives the Slovak squad the opportunity to compete close to home while introducing its new programme to a large regional audience.
Zsigo brings current BMW experience
Zsigo will arrive at the Hungaroring with recent experience behind the wheel of the BMW M4 GT3 EVO. He regularly races the car in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie during the 2026 season. That campaign should help him quickly adjust to Gamota Racing’s entry as the team prepares for its International GT Open debut.
Moreover, his familiarity with the BMW will allow the squad to focus on refining its setup for the Hungaroring’s technical layout rather than beginning with an entirely new package.
Hungaroring offers a fitting debut stage
The Hungaroring traditionally attracts an enthusiastic crowd and creates a lively atmosphere throughout the International GT Open weekend.
The 4.381-kilometre circuit demands precision and consistency, while its sequence of closely linked corners places considerable importance on car balance and driver rhythm. The weekend will feature the championship’s two established sprint formats, with races of 70 and 60 minutes.
As a result, Gamota Racing will face an immediate test against the established GT Open teams. However, Zsigo’s championship experience and continued work with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO should give the new operation a useful foundation.
Gamota Racing expands the Am-class field
Gamota Racing’s arrival will strengthen the Am-class entry while adding a fresh team to the wider GT Open paddock. Although the Hungaroring weekend will mark the beginning of a new chapter for Hrobárek’s squad, the team will enter with an experienced driver and a proven GT3 platform.
Zsigo will now aim to turn that experience into a competitive home-region appearance as Gamota Racing begins its International GT Open journey.
