Gabriele Minì retained the lead of the 2026 F2 Drivers’ Championship after finishing second in the Austrian GP Feature Race, but Nikola Tsolov reduced the gap between them from nine points to two.
Tsolov collected 25 points with his third Feature Race victory of the season, increasing his total from 81 to 106. Minì added 18 points and moved onto 108, leaving the leading pair separated by only two points after six rounds.
Meanwhile, Rafael Câmara moved ahead of Alexander Dunne into third, while Oliver Goethe made the largest gain by climbing six positions following his first podium of the season. In the Teams’ Championship, MP Motorsport overtook Rodin Motorsport for second, although Campos Racing extended its lead to 32 points.
Tsolov cuts Minì’s Championship lead to two points
Tsolov entered the Feature Race nine points behind Minì after salvaging one point from Saturday’s Sprint Race. However, the Campos Racing driver started third and moved past teammate Noel León to take the lead at Turn 3 on the opening lap.
Dunne briefly took the effective lead after the mandatory pit stops, but Tsolov remained close despite losing part of his front-left wing during their battle. When Dunne made mistakes at Turn 4 and the final corner, Tsolov reclaimed the position at Turn 1 and controlled the remaining laps.
Victory added 25 points to Tsolov’s total, moving him from 81 to 106. The Bulgarian retained second in the standings but reduced his deficit to Minì from nine points to two. His Spielberg victory also marked his fourth win of the season and third in a Feature Race.
Minì retains lead with second place
Minì started fourth and initially challenged León during the opening lap before settling into the leading group. The MP Motorsport driver briefly emerged ahead of Tsolov after making his mandatory stop one lap later. However, Tsolov used his warmer tyres and DRS to regain the position, while Dunne also moved ahead of the Italian.
Minì recovered during the second half of the race and overtook Dunne after the Virtual Safety Car restart. He eventually finished second and collected 18 points, increasing his total from 90 to 108.
Although Minì retained first place, Tsolov’s victory reduced his advantage by seven points. The teammates will therefore arrive at Silverstone separated by only two points.
Câmara overtakes Dunne for third
Câmara gained one Championship position after finishing fourth for Invicta Racing. The Brazilian became involved in a close fight with Dunne for the final podium place during the closing stages. Goethe’s alternative strategy eventually carried the MP Motorsport driver past both, but Câmara remained ahead of Dunne at the finish.
Fourth place added 12 points to Câmara’s total, moving him from 70 to 82. He climbed from fourth to third and now trails Minì by 26 points and Tsolov by 24.
Dunne added eight points with sixth place after Martinius Stenshorne’s post-race penalty. His total increased from 72 to 80, but Câmara’s larger score dropped the Rodin Motorsport driver from third to fourth. Only two points separate them ahead of the next round.
León strengthens fifth with pole and seventh place
León converted his maiden F2 pole position into eight Championship points across Sunday’s Feature Race. The Mexican led into Turn 1, but teammate Tsolov overtook him at Turn 3. León later finished seventh in the amended classification after Stenshorne’s penalty.
León earned six points for seventh alongside the two points awarded for pole position. Therefore, he increased his total from 54 to 62 and retained fifth in the Drivers’ Championship.
He now sits nine points ahead of Dino Beganovic, who finished outside the points and remained on 53. However, León trails fourth-placed Dunne by 18 points.
Stenshorne loses sixth place through post-race penalty
Stenshorne initially crossed the line sixth after spending much of the race on the alternative strategy. However, officials handed the Rodin Motorsport driver a 30-second penalty for failing to complete the mandatory pit stop. The sanction dropped him to 19th in the final classification and removed the eight points he would have earned.
Consequently, Stenshorne remained on 48 points and retained seventh in the standings. However, Laurens van Hoepen closed to within one point after scoring in eighth.
Without the penalty, Stenshorne would have moved ahead of Beganovic into sixth. Instead, he leaves Spielberg five points behind the Hitech driver and only one ahead of van Hoepen.
Van Hoepen moves ahead of Maini
Van Hoepen gained one position after finishing eighth in the amended order. The TRIDENT driver collected four points and increased his total from 43 to 47. As a result, he moved from ninth to eighth in the Drivers’ Championship.
Kush Maini finished outside the points and remained on 43, dropping from eighth to ninth. Van Hoepen now trails Stenshorne by one point while holding a four-point advantage over Maini.
Ritomo Miyata also failed to score and retained 10th with 30 points. Sebastián Montoya follows two points behind after an opening-lap collision ended his Feature Race.
Goethe surges six positions with first podium
Goethe made the largest movement in the standings after using the alternative strategy to finish third. The MP Motorsport driver extended his opening stint before switching to fresh supersoft tyres during the closing stages. He then charged through the battle involving Câmara, Dunne and Joshua Dürksen to claim the final podium position.
Goethe earned 16 points and increased his total from 12 to 28. Consequently, he climbed six positions from 18th to 12th.
He sits level with Montoya but remains behind the PREMA Racing driver on countback. Goethe now holds a five-point advantage over Dürksen and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak.
Inthraphuvasak climbs three positions
Inthraphuvasak also used the alternative strategy to make substantial progress during the final laps. The ART Grand Prix driver moved through the field on fresh supersoft tyres and challenged Câmara for fourth on the final lap. Although he could not complete the move, fifth place earned him 10 points.
Inthraphuvasak increased his total from 13 to 23 and climbed three places from 17th to 14th. He drew level with Dürksen but remains behind the Paraguayan on countback.
Dürksen added two points after Stenshorne’s penalty promoted him to ninth. He moved from 21 to 23 points but dropped from 12th to 13th because Goethe climbed ahead of him.
Bilinski scores but drops to 17th
Roman Bilinski collected the final point after Stenshorne’s penalty promoted him from 11th to 10th. The DAMS Lucas Oil driver increased his total from 15 to 16 points. However, the larger gains made by Goethe and Inthraphuvasak dropped him two positions from 15th to 17th.
John Bennett also lost two positions, falling from 14th to 16th after finishing 11th and remaining on 17 points. Colton Herta dropped from 13th to 15th after failing to score.
Nicolás Varrone retained 18th with 14 points, while Cian Shields, Enzo Fittipaldi and Mari Boya remained level on 10 points from 19th to 21st.
Villagómez remains 22nd after Feature Race retirement
Rafael Villagómez could not build on his first F2 podium from the Sprint Race. The Van Amersfoort Racing driver became involved in the opening-lap collision with Montoya and Dürksen and retired without scoring. He therefore remained 22nd with six points.
Villagómez trails the three drivers ahead of him by four points. Nevertheless, his six points from Saturday ensured that every full-season driver has now scored during the 2026 campaign.

Consequently, MP Motorsport climbed from third to second and moved eight points ahead of Rodin Motorsport. It now trails Campos by 32 points.
Rodin added eight points through Dunne, while Stenshorne lost his potential score through the post-race penalty. The team moved from 120 to 128 but dropped to third.
Invicta consolidates fourth

Van Amersfoort Racing and AIX Racing remain level on 20 points. However, Van Amersfoort Racing holds 10th on countback through Villagómez’s Austrian Sprint Race podium.

Silverstone awaits with title battle finely balanced

Campos will arrive with a 32-point Teams’ Championship lead, but MP Motorsport’s double podium in Austria has moved it ahead of Rodin. With both championships tightening behind the leaders, Silverstone offers another opportunity for the order to change.
