MissionH24 will showcase hydrogen technology at Interlagos this weekend as the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) heads to Brazil for the São Paulo round.
The collaborative programme between the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and H24Project will display a scale model of the H24EVO in the fan zone at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace. The H24EVO represents MissionH24’s third prototype, following the LMPH2G and H24, and forms part of endurance racing’s wider push towards decarbonised competition.
The display follows a significant month for hydrogen in endurance racing. Toyota publicly demonstrated its liquid hydrogen-powered TR LH2 Racing Prototype at Le Mans in June, while the FIA also announced plans for a hydrogen category in 2030. Toyota said the TR LH2 Racing Prototype uses the same chassis base as its TR010 HYBRID Hypercar and supports hydrogen development through motorsport.
MissionH24 brings H24EVO to Interlagos
MissionH24 will use the São Paulo weekend to present the H24EVO concept to fans and media. The scale model will sit inside the Interlagos fan zone from 10 July, giving spectators a closer look at the next step in the project’s hydrogen prototype pathway.
The H24EVO follows the LMPH2G and H24 prototypes, which helped MissionH24 develop and promote hydrogen power within endurance racing. Therefore, the display gives the public a visual link between the project’s earlier experimental cars and its next-generation direction.
Hydrogen focus follows Le Mans milestone
The Interlagos showcase comes after hydrogen gained major attention at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Toyota completed public demonstration laps with the TR LH2 Racing Prototype at the Circuit de la Sarthe, marking an important moment for liquid hydrogen technology in motorsport.
That Le Mans demonstration placed hydrogen in front of one of endurance racing’s largest audiences. Now, WEC’s Brazilian round will continue that momentum by taking the conversation to South America.
Motorsport remains a laboratory for future mobility
MissionH24 will use the H24EVO display to underline endurance racing’s role as a technological laboratory. The project links motorsport development with wider mobility questions, especially as manufacturers, governing bodies and energy partners assess how hydrogen could support future transport solutions.
As a result, the São Paulo activation will not only focus on racing. It will also highlight how track-based development can support new approaches to infrastructure, storage, performance and public understanding.
Hydrogen conference to take place on Saturday
Organisers will also hold a conference at 11:30 local time on Saturday, 11 July. The session will focus on decarbonisation through motorsport and the future potential of hydrogen.
ACO President Pierre Fillon, FIA WEC CEO Frédéric Lequien, FIA Circuit Sport Director Marek Nawarecki, MissionH24 Technical Director Bassel Aslan, Michelin Motorsport Technical Director Philippe Tramond and a representative from TotalEnergies will take part in the discussion.
Their presence gives the event a wider technical and strategic focus. In addition, it will allow the public and media to hear directly from organisations involved in shaping endurance racing’s energy transition.
Fans can meet Bassel Aslan on Sunday
Racegoers will also have another opportunity to engage with the project on Sunday morning. MissionH24 Technical Director Bassel Aslan will speak with spectators at 10:00 local time in the fan zone.
That session will give fans a chance to ask questions about the H24EVO, hydrogen technology and MissionH24’s development path. It will also help connect the technical side of the project with the spectators who follow endurance racing’s future direction.
São Paulo continues WEC’s hydrogen conversation
The São Paulo showcase strengthens WEC’s growing hydrogen narrative after Le Mans. With MissionH24 displaying the H24EVO, Toyota’s recent liquid hydrogen demonstration still fresh, and the FIA’s 2030 hydrogen category now part of the long-term framework, endurance racing continues to present hydrogen as a serious future energy route.
Interlagos will therefore offer more than on-track competition this weekend. It will also give fans a glimpse of how endurance racing plans to combine performance, innovation and decarbonisation in the years ahead.
