After the summer break, the 2026 F1 Dutch GP Sprint race starts with George Russell on pole followed by Norris and Leclerc. The leader of the Drivers’ Championship Kimi Antonelli qualified in fifth, losing time in the middle sector during SQ3 in Zandvoort.

The choice for tyres is mediums for most, only Leclerc and Bearman chose to go against the grain with softs. Notably, Tsunoda replaced Hadjar for the 2026 Dutch GP weekend while the Frenchman recovered from a wrist injury that he suffered during summer break.

As the race begins, Antonelli is the first to move up the grid, getting past Piastri soon after the start of the F1 Dutch GP Sprint race. Hülkenberg is out of the race, following Audi on the radio requiring him to retire the car.

Norris loses his rear tyres, creating a gap between himself and Russell. Leclerc uses the advantage to push past Norris on Lap 18. Russell sees the chequered flag as rain comes down on the track.

The Mercedes driver wins his third Sprint race of the 2026 F1 season. Leclerc gained a position into second ahead of the World Champion at the 2026 Dutch GP Sprint race.
