The first of two practice sessions for the last weekend of the 2026 Indy NXT by Firestone season has been completed at Laguna Seca Raceway, view the full results here.

25 minutes of practice began at 1:00 pm local time. Lochie Hughes is the first driver to lead the field, with time to find. Jacob Abel and Max Taylor followed behind him to the top of the charts.

Hughes improves his time with a 1:15.780.

Nolan Allaer is back in the No. 76 Juncos Hollinger, and slotting into third with a 1:16.508.

With 15 minutes to go, Carson Etter spins and brings out the red flag. It’s a short clean-up and the green flag is out with 10 minutes to go.

Allaer improves to second, before being pipped by Abel with a 1:15.922. Pierson goes faster than everyone with a 1:17.771.

Championship leader Nikita Johnson puts in a 1:1:17.032 and improves to 14th with five minutes to go.

Championship rivals Tymek Kucharczyk and Enzo Fittipaldi are sitting in ninth and 11th, respectively.

Alessandro de Tullio has a chance this weekend to set the record for most number of Indy NXT poles in one season. The No. 14 A.J. Foyt driver sits in 14th place with a 1:16.905.

Taylor jumps up to first with a 1:15.605. Hughes follows him to second for an Andretti Global top three.

Niels Koolen puts his Chip Ganassi Racing car into sixth ahead of Andretti’s Seb Murray.

Myles Rowe and Kucharczyk improve on their last laps, to eight and ninth. Milwaukee winner Max Garcia finishes in tenth ahead of Colin Kaminsky in 11th.

Hughes takes the checkered flag, and the fastest lap, to finish practice 1 at the top of an Andretti 1-2-3.
