Brady Golan took control of the 2026 Formula Regional Americas Championship (FRAC) Drivers’ standings after a dramatic sixth round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), turning an 8.5-point deficit to Evagoras Papasavvas into a 10.5-point advantage.
Golan opened the weekend with his sixth victory of the season and followed it with third in Race 2 before recovering points from a difficult finale. Papasavvas, meanwhile, endured two non-scores before responding with victory in Race 3, limiting the damage and keeping the championship fight close with four races remaining.
Further behind, Kekai Hauanio moved ahead of Christian Bogle into fourth after winning Race 2, while Luke Powers closed considerably on both drivers with two second-place finishes. James Lawley also produced his strongest FRAC weekend to date, while Whitney Strickland extended his Masters Cup advantage. In the Teams’ Championship, Toney Driver Development increased its lead over Crosslink Motorsports from eight to 14 points.
Golan takes FRAC championship lead at CTMP
Golan arrived at CTMP second in the standings on 195 points, 8.5 behind Papasavvas. However, the Toney Driver Development driver immediately capitalised when his championship rival encountered trouble in the opening race.
Starting alongside polesitter Papasavvas, Golan made the better launch and took the lead before Turn 1. He controlled the remainder of the contest to claim his sixth victory of 2026, while Papasavvas suffered a mechanical problem before crashing later in the race. Golan consequently collected 25 points while his rival scored none.
Golan then added 15 points with third in Race 2 as Papasavvas again failed to score following another mechanical issue. Race 3 proved considerably more difficult after Golan collided with Cooper Shipman and received a 30-second penalty, but he still salvaged eighth and four points.
His 44-point CTMP haul increases his total from 195 to 239. Golan therefore moves from second to first and leaves Canada 10.5 points clear of Papasavvas.
Papasavvas limits damage with Race 3 victory
Papasavvas entered Round 6 leading the championship on 203.5 points but suffered a difficult opening two races. A mechanical issue dropped him from pole to the rear in Race 1 before his recovery ended with a heavy Turn 5 crash, leaving him without a point.
Crosslink Motorsports repaired the car in time for Race 2, where Papasavvas again started from pole and initially led. However, another mechanical problem eliminated him from contention and resulted in a second consecutive zero.
Sunday finally produced the response he needed. Papasavvas inherited the Race 3 lead after Hauanio retired and Golan and Shipman collided, then controlled the remainder of the contest to claim his fifth victory of the season. The 25 points increase his total from 203.5 to 228.5.
Papasavvas therefore drops from first to second, but his finale victory prevented Golan from establishing a considerably larger advantage. Only 10.5 points separate them with VIR and Barber remaining.
Shipman strengthens third despite Race 3 retirement
Shipman remains third in the Drivers’ Championship after another competitive weekend for Kiwi Motorsport.
The rookie finished third behind Golan and Powers in Race 1 before becoming the central figure in the fight for victory during Race 2. Shipman took the lead after Papasavvas spun but eventually lost out to Hauanio following a late restart, finishing second and collecting another 18 points.
However, his weekend ended prematurely in Race 3. Shipman fought Golan after Hauanio’s retirement before the pair made contact exiting Turn 9. The collision damaged Shipman’s suspension and forced him to retire.
Nevertheless, his first two results added 33 points, increasing his championship total from 159 to 192. Shipman remains comfortably third but now trails Papasavvas by 36.5 points and Golan by 47.
Hauanio moves into fourth after CTMP victory
Hauanio produced one of the biggest positional gains among the leading drivers by moving ahead of Bogle into fourth.
His weekend began with ninth place in the classified Race 1 results after officials applied a 30-second penalty for an unsafe re-entry. However, Hauanio responded emphatically in Race 2 despite starting seventh following a transponder-related grid penalty.
The Crosslink driver steadily moved forwards before passing Golan and then Shipman to claim his second victory of the season. Race 3 offered another opportunity after he started from pole, but a mechanical failure ended his attempt to complete a weekend double.
Hauanio nevertheless scored 27 points across CTMP, moving from 116.5 to 143.5. He climbs from fifth to fourth and now leads Bogle by three points, although Powers sits only another 2.5 behind.
Bogle drops to fifth as battle tightens
Bogle drops one position despite scoring in all three CTMP races.
The Toney Driver Development driver collected one point in Race 1, six in Race 2 and 12 with fourth place in Sunday’s finale. His 19-point weekend increases his championship total from 121.5 to 140.5.
However, Hauanio’s victory produced a larger gain, moving the Crosslink rookie ahead and pushing Bogle from fourth to fifth.
The championship fight in this section has now become particularly close. Only 5.5 points separate Hauanio on 143.5, Bogle on 140.5 and Powers on 138, meaning a single strong result at VIR could completely reorder fourth through sixth.
Powers closes after two runner-up finishes
Powers remains sixth but significantly reduced his deficit to the drivers immediately ahead.
The Toney rookie finished second to teammate Golan in Race 1, adding 18 points. After failing to score in Race 2, he returned to the podium in the finale, finishing second behind Papasavvas despite receiving a five-second penalty for a false start.
Those two runner-up finishes give Powers 36 points for the round, the second-largest haul among the leading championship contenders behind Golan.
His total rises from 102 to 138. Powers remains sixth but has reduced his deficit to Hauanio from 14.5 points after NJMP to only 5.5. He also sits just 2.5 behind Bogle.
Dass consolidates seventh
Harbir Dass retains seventh after another consistent points-scoring weekend for Kiwi Motorsport.
Dass finished fourth in the opening race, scoring 12 points, before adding another four with eighth in Race 2. He then completed the weekend with seventh in the finale and another six points.
The rookie therefore adds 22 points to his championship total, moving from 74 to 96.
Although Dass remains some distance behind the increasingly close battle for fourth through sixth, he has strengthened his control of seventh. His advantage over Alejandro Bobadilla now stands at nine points.
Bobadilla continues consistent scoring run
Bobadilla also scored in all three races and remains eighth.
The Crosslink Motorsports rookie earned eight points in both Race 1 and Race 2 before improving to fifth in the finale, adding another 10. His 26-point CTMP haul raises his total from 61 to 87.
Bobadilla therefore maintains eighth and closes slightly on Dass, reducing the gap from 13 points after NJMP to nine.
However, the driver immediately behind made an even larger gain during the Canadian weekend.
Lawley earns maiden podium at home
Lawley produced his strongest FRAC round of the season at his home event.
The Atlantic Racing Team driver collected four points from Race 1 before matching his previous career-best result with fourth in Race 2. Sunday then delivered his breakthrough podium as Lawley avoided the incidents ahead and finished third behind Papasavvas and Powers.
His three results produced 31 points, increasing his championship total from 40 to 71. Lawley remains ninth but has substantially reduced the deficit to the drivers ahead.
He entered CTMP 21 points behind eighth-placed Bobadilla and now trails him by 16. Meanwhile, Lawley has increased his advantage over Aidan Schuh from two points to five.
Schuh reaches 66 points after consistent CTMP weekend
Schuh also produced one of the most consistent performances of Round 6.
The Crosslink rookie finished fifth in both of the opening races, collecting 10 points each time, before adding another eight with sixth in Race 3. Those results give him 28 points for the weekend and take his championship total from 38 to 66.
Schuh remains 10th, five points behind Lawley and 34 clear of Eric Wisniewski.
Wisniewski and Barrett Wolfe did not compete at CTMP and therefore remain 11th and 12th on 32 and 30 points respectively.
Janzen climbs three positions in overall standings
Whitney Strickland remains 13th in the overall Drivers’ Championship after adding three points across the CTMP races, increasing his total from 16 to 19.
However, Kevin Janzen made the largest positional gain further down the order. The Canadian added six overall points in Race 1 and two in Race 2, taking him from 5.5 to 13.5. He consequently climbs three places from 17th to 14th.
Anthony Autiello also moves forward, climbing from 16th to 15th after adding one point in Race 3 to reach seven.
Jonathan Cottrill and Aiden Zelaya remain on six points and consequently drop to 16th and 17th respectively. Jake Pollack and Robert Arana Jr remain scoreless.

Golan therefore leads Papasavvas by 10.5 points, while Shipman remains 47 points from the championship lead. Further back, only 5.5 points cover Hauanio, Bogle and Powers from fourth through sixth, creating another particularly close fight entering the final four races.
Strickland extends Masters Cup lead
Strickland strengthened his Masters Cup advantage despite losing the first two class races to Janzen.
The Atlantic Racing Team driver finished second in class in both Race 1 and Race 2, earning nine points each time. He then returned to the top step in Sunday’s finale, taking his 10th Masters victory of 2026 and another 12 points.
His 30-point weekend increases his Masters total from 111 to 141.
More importantly, Strickland extends his championship advantage despite Janzen’s strong home round. The gap grows from 34.5 points after NJMP to 40.5 following CTMP.
Janzen takes home double as Autiello remains close
Janzen won both of the opening Masters Cup races at CTMP, earning 12 points in each contest. However, his early retirement from Race 3 prevented him from completing the sweep and left him scoreless in the finale.
The Canadian still adds 24 points and moves from 76.5 to 100.5.
Autiello remains third after scoring 23 points across the weekend. His results of third, third and second in class increase his total from 68 to 91.
Consequently, the gap between Janzen and Autiello grows slightly from 8.5 to 9.5 points. Strickland, however, now holds a 40.5-point advantage at the top with only four races remaining.

Toney extends Teams’ Championship advantage
Toney Driver Development entered CTMP eight points ahead of Crosslink Motorsports and increased that margin during Round 6.
Golan, Bogle and Powers combined to score heavily across the weekend. Toney collected 43 points from Race 1, 21 in Race 2 and 30 from the finale, producing a 94-point round. Its total consequently increases from 374 to 468.
Crosslink also enjoyed a productive weekend despite the reliability problems suffered by Papasavvas and Hauanio. The team scored 18 points in Race 1 before collecting 35 in each of the remaining two contests.
Its 88-point return takes Crosslink from 366 to 454. Toney therefore outscores its title rival by six across CTMP and extends its Teams’ Championship lead from eight to 14 points.
Kiwi remains third after Shipman podiums
Kiwi Motorsport remains comfortably third following another substantial weekend from Shipman and Dass.
The team collected 27 points in Race 1 and 22 in Race 2 before the Shipman-Golan collision contributed to a smaller six-point return in the finale. Nevertheless, Kiwi added 55 points across the round, moving from 233 to 288.
However, both championship leaders scored considerably more. Kiwi now trails Crosslink by 166 points and Toney by 180.
With only four races remaining, the primary Teams’ Championship battle therefore continues to centre on Toney and Crosslink.
Atlantic Racing moves into fourth
Atlantic Racing Team made the largest positional gain in the Teams’ standings following Lawley’s strong home weekend and Strickland’s contributions.
The team scored four points in Race 1, 12 in Race 2 and 17 during the finale. Its combined 33-point haul increases its championship total from 40 to 73.
Atlantic consequently moves from fifth to fourth and overtakes Hillenburg Motorsports, which remains on 48 after not adding to its total at CTMP.
Momentum Motorsports also gains one point through Autiello and moves from six to seven, officially taking sixth place ahead of MLT Motorsports and JENSEN, which remain tied on six.

CTMP reverses the FRAC championship lead
Round 6 fundamentally changed the Drivers’ Championship without allowing either Golan or Papasavvas to establish a decisive advantage.
Papasavvas arrived in Canada 8.5 points ahead, but two consecutive non-scores allowed Golan to move clear. However, Papasavvas’ Race 3 victory limited the loss and leaves the rivals separated by only 10.5 points. Shipman remains mathematically relevant in third, while Hauanio, Bogle and Powers have developed an increasingly close battle immediately behind them.
The Teams’ Championship remains similarly competitive. Toney strengthened its advantage but leads Crosslink by only 14 points after 17 completed races. Meanwhile, Strickland has created considerably more breathing room in the Masters Cup with a 40.5-point lead over Janzen.
FRAC now heads to VIRginia International Raceway for Rounds 18 and 19 before Barber Motorsports Park hosts the final two races of 2026. With only four contests remaining, Golan holds the Drivers’ Championship lead, but Papasavvas remains within one race victory of taking it back.
