Round 12 kicked off with a busy two-race Friday, with Dino Beganovic claiming the Sprint Race win while Alex Dunne secured Feature Race 1 victory amid chaos. As attention turned to the final race of the supersized Baku round, Martinius Stenshorne lined up on pole alongside Dunne and new Drivers’ Standings leader Rafael Câmara.

At lights out, Stenshorne got the start he needed, while drama struck early for John Bennett, who got spun out of the race, triggering an early Safety Car. The race resumed on Lap 2 with Stenshorne making another strong start as the top three remained unchanged. Ritomo Miyata and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak were next to retire, bringing out two separate Virtual Safety Cars (VSC).

The interruptions forced several strategy gambles, with Dunne ultimately coming out on top before suffering a 5-second time penalty for crossing the line at pit lane entry. Meanwhile, Nikola Tsolov continued an impressive comeback, climbing from P11 to P4 by Lap 16. Despite retiring in the pit lane, Rafael Villagómez received a 5-second time penalty for speeding in the pit lane.

At the front, Tsolov continued his charge, overtaking Stenshorne for P3 on Lap 22. However, a top-three drag race to the line saw Câmara prove successful, inheriting the win at the chequered flag as Dunne’s penalty was applied. Nikola Tsolov finished P2, with Alex Dunne completing the Feature Race 2 podium at the 2026 F2 Azerbaijan GP.
