LN4 Fusion has confirmed Brazilian driver Gabriel Gomez as its second signing for the 2027 FIA Formula 3 Championship, with the youngster joining the newly established team following a season in the FIA Formula Regional European Championship (FREC).

Gomez will step up to F3 after finishing 14th in the 2026 FREC standings with Rodin Motorsport. The move follows an impressive Formula 4 career, during which he secured the 2025 Formula Winter Series title and finished runner-up in both the Italian F4 and E4 Championships.

The Brazilian joins reigning Eurocup-3 champion James Egozi in LN4 Fusion’s inaugural F3 line-up, with the team still to confirm its third driver. Co-founded by 2025 Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris, LN4 Fusion will replace AIX Racing on the grid as part of an ambitious expansion across the junior single-seater categories.

Gomez secures FIA F3 promotion with LN4 Fusion

Gomez becomes the second driver to join LN4 Fusion’s 2027 FIA F3 programme, continuing his progression through the international single-seater ladder.

The Brazilian spent 2026 competing with Rodin Motorsport in FREC, gaining experience with the second-generation Tatuus T-326 introduced for the championship’s inaugural season under full FIA status.

Although he faced strong competition throughout the year, Gomez demonstrated promising pace during several events and continued developing his understanding of Formula Regional machinery.

His promotion to F3 will introduce another challenge as he adapts to the Dallara F3 2025, alongside the championship’s demanding qualifying format and international calendar.

Gomez expressed his excitement about joining LN4 Fusion, highlighting his appreciation for the opportunity and his confidence in the team’s new project.

“I’m really happy about this opportunity to join the LN4 Fusion team and race in FIA F3 next year! I’m grateful to the team, my sponsors, and everyone who has helped make this opportunity possible. I’m really looking forward to working with everyone involved in this new project, and I’m confident we can do a great job together on track!”

Gomez builds impressive record in Formula 4

Gomez began his single-seater career in 2023, making his debut in Spanish Formula 4 before returning for a full campaign the following year.

The Brazilian had previously enjoyed a successful karting career, securing the Brazilian Karting Championship title in the OK-Junior category in 2020. He subsequently competed internationally, recording several strong results before progressing into cars.

His breakthrough came in 2025, when he established himself as one of the leading drivers across multiple Formula 4 championships.

Gomez began the year by winning the Formula Winter Series, securing three victories and nine podium finishes on his way to the title. His consistency throughout the winter campaign provided momentum as he prepared for the main European racing season.

He subsequently challenged for the Italian F4 Championship, finishing runner-up after securing 11 podium finishes. The Brazilian also competed in the E4 Championship, where he added five podiums and another second-place finish in the standings.

Across the Italian F4 and E4 Championships, Gomez accumulated six victories and 16 podium finishes, demonstrating his ability to compete consistently against some of Europe’s leading junior drivers.

Those performances established his credentials for a move into Formula Regional, which he confirmed with Rodin Motorsport ahead of the 2026 season.

Formula Regional campaign provides valuable preparation

Gomez joined Rodin Motorsport for the 2026 FIA FREC season, stepping into a championship featuring more powerful machinery and several highly rated competitors.

His transition began encouragingly during pre-season testing, where he demonstrated competitive pace against more experienced Formula Regional drivers.

At Circuit Paul Ricard, Gomez recorded the fastest time across two days of official testing, setting a 1:56.401 during the opening afternoon session. The performance placed him ahead of several championship contenders, providing an early indication of his potential.

However, converting that speed into consistent championship results proved more difficult. Gomez faced a competitive field throughout the season, with several drivers regularly challenging for victories and podium positions.

He nevertheless produced encouraging performances, including a fourth-place finish during the reversed-grid race at Monza. The result contributed to his progress as he continued adapting to the category.

Gomez ultimately finished 14th in the Drivers’ Championship, completing a season that provided valuable experience ahead of his promotion to FIA F3.

His familiarity with the demands of Formula Regional competition should help him prepare for the higher category, particularly as he begins working with LN4 Fusion’s engineering and sporting personnel.

Richards welcomes Gomez to new F3 project

LN4 Fusion Chief Executive Officer Dan Richards welcomed Gomez’s signing, highlighting the Brazilian’s previous achievements and development potential.

The team will make its FIA F3 debut in 2027 after acquiring selected assets from AIX Racing, including its championship entry. Its preparations will involve establishing new working relationships, integrating drivers and developing a competitive operational structure.

Gomez’s experience across Formula 4 and Formula Regional will provide another foundation for the project as the team prepares for its first campaign.

“Gabriel has shown impressive potential so far, and we look forward to working with him. He has a remarkable resume, and we see all the ingredients for a positive season together. We are in for an exciting challenge, and we will start preparing as soon as possible to maximize what we can achieve.”

The team’s leadership includes former PREMA Racing Team Principal René Rosin, who will oversee the sporting programme. Guillaume Capietto will serve as Racing Director, bringing additional experience from successful junior single-seater operations.

Their appointments underline LN4 Fusion’s ambition to establish itself as a competitive force across multiple championships while supporting drivers progressing towards Formula 1.

Gomez joins Eurocup-3 champion Egozi

Gomez will partner American driver James Egozi, whom LN4 Fusion confirmed as its first FIA F3 signing earlier in October.

Egozi enters the championship following an impressive 2026 Eurocup-3 campaign, during which he secured the Drivers’ title with two rounds remaining.

The American claimed eight victories and 12 podium finishes throughout the season, establishing himself as one of the leading drivers in the category. He also finished runner-up in the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship earlier in the year.

The combination gives LN4 Fusion two drivers arriving from different junior single-seater championships. While Egozi brings momentum from his title-winning Eurocup-3 season, Gomez has gained experience competing with the new Formula Regional machinery against a highly competitive European field.

Both will face the challenge of adapting to FIA F3 while helping establish a new team on the international stage.

LN4 Fusion has not yet announced its third driver, with the final seat remaining open as preparations for 2027 continue.

LN4 Fusion prepares for inaugural FIA F3 season

Gomez’s signing marks another step in LN4 Fusion’s preparations for its first season in FIA Formula 3.

The Lando Norris-backed organisation plans to establish programmes across Italian Formula 4, FIA FREC and FIA F3, creating opportunities for young drivers to progress through multiple levels of the single-seater ladder.

The team will enter F3 as the championship introduces an expanded international calendar featuring ten rounds across four continents.

The 2027 season begins in Bahrain from 12–14 March before visiting Jeddah, Melbourne and Montreal. The championship will subsequently return to Europe for rounds at Monaco, Silverstone, Spielberg, Monza and Madrid before concluding at Istanbul Park in October.

For Gomez, the expanded schedule will introduce several new circuits and additional challenges as he adjusts to F3 machinery. However, his previous experience across Spanish F4, Italian F4, E4 and Formula Regional provides a foundation for the transition.

With two drivers now confirmed, LN4 Fusion can continue building its programme ahead of its championship debut.

Gomez will aim to build on his successful Formula 4 career and the experience gained during his 2026 Formula Regional campaign, while helping the newly established team develop into a competitive operation.

For both the Brazilian and LN4 Fusion, 2027 represents the beginning of an important new chapter in their respective single-seater ambitions.
