Championship leader Alisha Palmowski started on pole position as she looked to put herself within striking range of sealing the title later in the weekend. Payton Westcott joined the Brit on the front row as the Mercedes backed driver tried to win on home soil. Gademan was 3rd as the Dutch driver looked to close on Emma Felbermayr for 2nd in points. The Austrian was all the way down in P11.

Larsen, Jacquet, Granada, Ferreira, Robertson and Bruce completed the top 10. The other American drivers of Countryman (P15) and Dobson (P17) faced a big challenge to get into the points in the first race of the weekend.

A difficult season for Ella Lloyd continued as she started in 13th.

On the first lap, Robertson sent Ferreira into a spin in the esses. The Brit was out on the spot as she broke her right front suspension.

Having taken the lead off the line, Westcott then had to defend against Palmowski. While she did that through Turns 3, 4 and 5, the championship leader swept around the outside into Turn 6 and got the inside line for T7. The American then had an even bigger disaster as she had a snap of oversteer on the exit of Turn 8, ending up in the dirt between T8 and T9. She fell to 8th and took herself out of victory contention.

A second Safety Car was required late in the race as Ella Lloyd and Ava Dobson made contact on the run to Turn 11.
