AF Corse has unveiled the livery of its No. 90 Ferrari 499P ahead of the 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS), completing the two-car Hypercar field’s preparations for the category’s inaugural season. The Italian outfit will enter the championship with a distinctive light and dark blue design featuring yellow accents, marking a departure from Ferrari’s traditional red racing colours.
The unveiling follows Cetilar Racing’s presentation of its No. 47 Ferrari 499P earlier in the week. Both entries will receive technical support from AF Corse, with the two Italian programmes competing across six four-hour races as the championship introduces Hypercar competition for the first time.
AF Corse reveals blue and yellow Ferrari 499P livery
The No. 90 Ferrari 499P features a predominantly light blue finish, complemented by darker blue sections and yellow detailing across the bodywork. The colour scheme provides a distinctive appearance for AF Corse’s latest Hypercar programme, contrasting with the red and yellow liveries traditionally associated with Ferrari’s factory endurance racing entries.
The design maintains a visual connection to Luís Pérez Companc’s previous racing programmes. The Argentine has competed in similarly coloured LMP2 machinery during recent IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship campaigns with AF Corse, making the blue and yellow combination a familiar sight in his endurance racing career.
Furthermore, the new livery resembles that of the Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo entered by AF Corse USA in the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS Pro class. That programme features Pérez Companc’s son, Matías Pérez Companc, alongside Frederik Schandorff, extending the family’s association with Ferrari and the Italian racing organisation.
The latest unveiling follows the confirmation of both Ferrari 499P entries for the 2026/27 ALMS, with the two programmes set to introduce the manufacturer’s successful Hypercar prototype to the championship.
Pérez Companc joins Ferrari factory drivers Nielsen and Ye
FIA Bronze-rated driver Luís Pérez Companc will lead AF Corse’s No. 90 entry, sharing driving responsibilities with Ferrari factory drivers Nicklas Nielsen and Yifei Ye. The combination brings together an experienced amateur competitor and two established Hypercar drivers, both of whom have secured overall victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Nielsen was part of Ferrari’s winning No. 50 crew in 2024, sharing the 499P with Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina. Meanwhile, Ye claimed victory the following year with Robert Kubica and Phil Hanson in AF Corse’s privately entered No. 83 Ferrari. That result marked Ferrari’s third consecutive overall Le Mans victory since returning to the highest category of endurance racing in 2023.
Both drivers therefore bring valuable experience with the Ferrari 499P, particularly as Pérez Companc prepares to compete in the manufacturer’s hybrid prototype.
Nielsen has also previously raced alongside the Argentine in LMP2, giving the pair an established working relationship before their move into the championship’s new category.
Speaking through the official Asian Le Mans Series announcement, Nielsen welcomed the opportunity to reunite with Pérez Companc and compete alongside Ye.
“I’m very happy to be racing in the Asian Le Mans Series with Luís and Yifei. We’ve been doing quite a lot of LMP2 together with Luís, so I’m looking forward to driving with him again in such a competitive championship. It’s always nice to drive the 499P, so I’m looking forward to trying a new environment”.
Cetilar Racing completes two-car Ferrari Hypercar field
AF Corse’s No. 90 will compete against the No. 47 Ferrari 499P entered by Cetilar Racing, which unveiled its own livery on 27 October. The two cars form the complete Hypercar field for the 2026/27 season, with both programmes receiving support from Amato Ferrari’s organisation.
Cetilar Racing has retained its traditional electric blue and fluorescent green colour scheme, which has featured throughout its previous LMP2 and GT racing programmes. The design contrasts with AF Corse’s lighter blue and yellow appearance, ensuring the two Ferrari prototypes will remain visually distinct during the championship.
Roberto Lacorte will share the No. 47 with his son Nicola Lacorte and Ferrari factory driver Antonio Fuoco, who previously claimed overall victory at Le Mans in 2024. Their participation marks another significant step for Cetilar Racing, which finished runner-up in the 2025/26 ALMS LMP2 championship.
The Italian team secured two victories at Sepang during its previous campaign, with Roberto Lacorte, Fuoco and Charles Milesi forming its driver line-up. Its move into Hypercar represents a progression from LMP2 competition, while maintaining its longstanding technical relationship with AF Corse.
Ferrari prepares for inaugural ALMS Hypercar competition
The introduction of Hypercar represents a major change for the Asian Le Mans Series, which has traditionally featured LMP2, LMP3 and GT machinery. For 2026/27, the championship will feature Hypercar alongside LMP2 and GT3, with the new top category operating under Pro/Am driver regulations.
Each Hypercar entry must include an FIA Bronze-rated driver, allowing experienced amateur competitors to race alongside established professional drivers in machinery also used in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Although organisers initially attracted interest from several manufacturers and private teams, Ferrari will provide the only two Hypercars competing during the inaugural campaign.
ALMEM and LMEM CEO Frédéric Lequien acknowledged the limited initial participation while welcoming the Italian programmes.
“We have two Ferraris entered in Hypercar, and, while we were hoping to have more for the first season, we look forward to seeing Cetilar Racing and AF Corse in action in Le Castellet.”
Despite the modest Hypercar entry, the championship has attracted a maximum 47-car field for the 2026/27 season, including 16 LMP2 prototypes and 29 GT3 cars.
AF Corse will also compete in both of those categories, entering two Oreca 07-Gibsons and two Ferrari 296 GT3 Evos. Consequently, the Italian organisation will be represented across all three championship classes, highlighting the scale of its upcoming endurance racing programme.
AF Corse expands Ferrari 499P presence beyond WEC
AF Corse’s ALMS programme represents a further expansion of the Ferrari 499P’s presence in international endurance racing. The prototype has already established an impressive competitive record in the WEC, including three consecutive overall victories at Le Mans between 2023 and 2025.
The Italian organisation has played an important role in those achievements, operating Ferrari’s factory Hypercar programme while also running the privately entered No. 83 Ferrari.
The independent entry achieved its most significant success in 2025, when Kubica, Hanson and Ye secured overall victory at Le Mans. The trio subsequently finished runner-up in the Hypercar Drivers’ Championship, while AF Corse claimed the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams.
That success provided the foundation for the team’s continued WEC campaign with the No. 83 Ferrari 499P in 2026, with Ye remaining part of the driver line-up.
The new ALMS programme will therefore allow AF Corse to build on its existing Hypercar experience while introducing another driver combination to the Ferrari 499P.
European calendar awaits AF Corse’s Hypercar debut
The 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series will take place entirely in Europe following the championship’s temporary relocation from its traditional Asian and Middle Eastern venues due to the ongoing conflict in the region.
The revised calendar features three double-header weekends, with two four-hour races scheduled at each circuit. The season will begin at Circuit Paul Ricard in France from 13–15 November 2026 before moving to Circuito de Jerez in Spain from 15–17 January 2027. The championship will conclude at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal from 19–21 February.
The compact schedule will create a demanding championship for both Ferrari crews, particularly as the category’s new Pro/Am format introduces additional considerations regarding driver management, race strategy and consistency.
For AF Corse, the opening weekend will mark the competitive debut of its blue and yellow No. 90 Ferrari 499P, with Pérez Companc, Nielsen and Ye aiming to establish themselves as early contenders.
With both liveries now unveiled and the opening races approaching, Ferrari will enter the championship’s inaugural Hypercar season with two experienced Italian programmes competing for the first title.
