The 2025 F3 Imola GP proved to be a redemption race for some, and a tale of bad fortunes for others. Tyre management was a large variable throughout the weekend, with many drivers struggling at the iconic, but narrow circuit. The Sprint Race proved to be highly eventful and strategically intense, and the Feature Race allowed the race winner to finally claim victory and earn his redemption. This weekend produced both winners and losers in the F3 Imola GP with familiar faces and some new additions to the list.

This weekend also saw the addition of the new Aramco Pole Position award, awarded to the pole position driver after the Qualifying results. It also saw the introduction of 2 new drivers to the grid— James Hedley and Brad Benavides—both to drive for AIX Racing.

Winners of the 2025 F3 Imola GP

Santiago Ramos – Van Amersfoort Racing

Ramos won the Imola Feature Race, becoming one of two F3 race winners at the Imola GP this weekend. He started the race in P2, after setting a rapid qualifying lap time in Friday’s qualifying session. With three laps remaining, Ramos passed Rafael Câmara to take the win. It was his redemption after narrowly missing victory in last year’s Imola Feature Race.

Tim Tramnitz – MP Motorsport

Tramnitz overtook his rookie teammate early in the Sprint Race on Saturday, leading the charge and claiming victory in the F3 Imola Sprint, as well as his first win of the season. After both safety cars during the race, Tramnitz had great restarts, which secured P1 for the MP Motorsport driver. He managed the race perfectly, including his tyres, with his teammate del Pino crossing the line in P2 to make it the first 1-2 finish in Formula 3 for MP Motorsport. He concludes this weekend sitting 3rd in the 2025 F3 championship standings.

Mari Boya – Campos Racing

Mari Boya was set for a podium in Imola’s Sprint Race, but a mechanical issue struck the Campos Racing car. He limped back to the pits and retired, only 8 laps into the Sprint Race. He, however, bounced back on Sunday with his best 2025 result, finishing P5 in the Feature Race. From P10, Boya charged through the field, crediting his strong launch to set up the result. With renewed confidence, Boya enters the second race of the triple header aiming for more valuable points.

Losers of the 2025 F3 Imola GP

Rafael Câmara – TRIDENT

Even though Câmara came away with P1 in both the Practice and Qualifying sessions on Friday, he walks away as one of the unlucky drivers from the F3 Imola GP. He struggled with the tyres in the race, and it was highly evident when Ramos overtook him at the start of Lap 19. Câmara followed by running wide at Acque Minerali, not only losing P1 to Ramos, but dropping to P3 as Strømsted moved to P2 after his affair, in the matter of a lap. He still concludes this weekend at the top of the 2025 F3 Championship Standings, leading with 73 points, but is only 19 points ahead now of his fellow Trident teammate, Strømsted.

Ivan Domingues – Van Amersfoort Racing

Domingues had a difficult weekend all around in Imola. He was P24 after Friday’s Qualifying session. His misfortune continued as he spun at the start of the Sprint Race, setting him up at the back of the pack. His calamity followed him into the Feature Race, as he collided with Benavides on Lap 12, bringing out a Virtual Safety Car and being the second retirement of the Feature Race.

Matías Zagazeta – DAMS Lucas Oil

At the restart of the Sprint Race, after the first safety car for Marinangeli, Zagazeta was just a passenger in his DAMS Lucas Oil car, as it was beached in the gravel at Tamburello, following an incident with Callum Voisin. This brought out a full Safety car, with Voisin being handed a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision. This was not the weekend Zagazeta would have hoped for, as he currently only has 6 points to his name in the Formula 3 Championship.

With the conclusion of the F3 Imola GP, the drivers will be back racing this weekend. They will take to the streets of Monaco to kick off the second weekend of the triple header.
