Round 11 of the 2025 Indy NXT season is in the books as race 2 at Laguna Seca has been completed, full report and results below.
Caio Collet started on pole once again, with Dennis Hauger joining him on the front row for a second straight day. Could the Brazilian take the victory like he did in race 1?

5 and a half hours after the race was due to start, it got going shortly after 15:30 local time. The medical helicopter could not fly due to low visibility.
The caution appears instantly
Out of turn 2, Josh Pierson overtook Dennis Hauger for P2 as the young American got his elbows out. With the Norwegian ending up in the gravel with his right hand side tyres, Hughes took advantage to nip by into turn 3 for 3rd. Unseen off camera, however, the championship leader reclaimed P3 from the Australian.
As lots of gravel got kicked up out of turn 2 with Rowe also dipping tyres like Hauger, a big collision happened. Liam Sceats moved right but did not know Bryce Aron was there. The CGR driver got airborne and took Sceats and Smith with him into the gravel before turn 3. Aron had a broken left front suspension from the initial impact and could not steer his car.
Collet, Pierson, Hauger, Hughes, Hedge, Taylor, Rowe, Murray, Koolen and Missig was the top 10 ahead of the restart. The green flag was thrown on lap 7.
At the restart, Pierson got his elbows out with Hauger at turn 2 to defend 2nd.
Meanwhile Roe and Correa had an incident as there was an awkward tangle. The Irishman dropped from P11 to P14, with Correa going from P12 to P16. That was until the Andretti driver boxed at the end of that lap with damage.
Max Taylor and Myles Rowe get their elbows out
It got feisty between Taylor and Rowe. Initially Rowe made a clean pass into turn 2 on the restart, with Taylor hitting back a lap later, pushing Rowe to the kerb and dirt out of the aforementioned corner. Then Rowe returned serve on the next tour in turn 2 again as he properly bumped car #18 out of the way. No penalties gor handed out.
Following a very disappointing qualifying, Salvador de Alba took advantage of the first lap chaos and the incident between Roe and Correa to be 11th, before passing Missig to run in P10 by lap 10.
However, de Alba would be on the end of a sensational pass by Jack William Miller for P10. A huge send into the Corkscrew on lap 16 paid off.
Sceats crashes out
Running in P18 and a couple of laps down, Liam Sceats got wide in turn 6 and ended up in the tyres. Fortunately he was okay. The caution appeared straight away on lap 18.
Yellows return immediately
As the green flag was thrown on lap 23, there was more carnage. Jordan Missig looked to have spun himself on the entry to the final corner, causing a chain reaction.
An unfortunate victim was Hailie Deegan, along with Juan Manuel Correa. Deegan crashed into the back of the former F2 driver and got airborne, losing her front wing. Correa had to park his car in turn 2 due to damage.
Nolan Allaer also broke his front wing as he hit the back of Tommy Smith. He was also out.
A huge moment in the championship
With 9 laps to go, it all kicked off. Lochie Hughes overtook Dennis Hauger into turn 11 on the restart, which was against the rules.
The Norwegian tried to respond into turn 2. However, they made contact as they had a very awkward tangle and ended up in the gravel. It was game over for the points leader as he ended up in the tyres.
Hughes returned to the pits but was parked initially because he took off with the rope used to pull him out of the gravel. However, replays showed he was signalled to go and returned to the race 3 laps down.
In a separate incident, Myles Rowe spun as he tried a very ambitious move on Callum Hedge just behind the Andretti teammates.
Collet, Pierson, Hedge, Taylor, Murray, Koolen, Miller, de Alba, Rowe and Missig was the top 10 on the restart with 5 laps left.
Miller had a poor exit out of turn 11, opening the door for de Alba and Rowe. He would quickly regain those spots, nonetheless.
A poor race from Myles Rowe continues
Heading into turn 5, Myles Rowe tried a very ambitious move on de Alba. He gave the Andretti driver a left rear puncture and was awarded a drive-through penalty for it.
Caio Collet gains huge points on Dennis Hauger
At the front, it was a perfect performance from Caio Collet to make it 2/2 at Laguna Seca across the weekend. Josh Pierson backed up his P3 from Saturday with 2nd. Callum Hedge survived the wild move from Rowe to complete the podium spots.
Max Taylor and Seb Murray drove very good and solid races for P4 and P5.
In the championship, Collet is now only 42 points behind Hauger following a dramatic Sunday afternoon at Laguna Seca.
