Porsche sealed their first Formula E Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Championship titles. They took full advantage as rivals fell away. Nissan needed both cars in the top four but failed. Oliver Rowland, already crowned Drivers’ Champion, collided with Nico Mueller on Lap 16. The crash ended both their races. With Nissan out, Porsche held firm and made history. Jaguar TCS Racing also beat Nissan to second in both standings. But the moment belonged to Porsche.

Wehrlein savours team glory before switching off for the summer

Wehrlein reflected on Porsche’s triumph with a mix of pride and understated humour. While he admitted he would have preferred a slightly different personal result in the standings, his main focus remained on the team’s achievement. Securing both the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ titles had been the clear objective, and he was pleased they had delivered.

Wehrlein credited the entire squad for their relentless effort over the past few seasons, noting their consistent dominance. As for celebrations, he hinted that the team planned to enjoy themselves thoroughly in London before he took a well-deserved break from racing and disconnected from the outside world.

“If I’m honest, I would have preferred to be fourth. There are some benefits at the end of the year. I can’t tell what I mean, but it is what it is. The target was to win the Teams and Manufacturers’ Championship, and we achieved that. And honestly, finishing second or third doesn’t change the world to me. So big congratulations to the team. They worked really hard and the last three years we’ve won everything there is to win and everyone can be super happy.”

“Well, the thing is London is going to run out of beers tonight. So my team really likes a good beer in the evening. So yeah, we need to get everything we can. And then I’m actually busy on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then I’m just looking forward to time off. I will switch off my phone, so Florian don’t try to call me or try to reach me. I’m not available until the end of August, end of September. Still nothing? End of October?”

Porsche’s journey pays off with first Formula E World Titles

Florian Modlinger described Porsche’s double title win as the result of years of steady progress and relentless hard work. Reflecting on the journey from seventh in Season 8 to finally clinching the top spot, he emphasized how far the team had come. He credited the entire operation—from the drivers to the factory staff—for their dedication and commitment.

Expressing immense pride in bringing Porsche its first Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Championship titles in Formula E. While the scale of the achievement may take time to fully sink in, Modlinger was clear. The moment was special, and the support from fans, both at the track and at home, played a vital role in reaching this historic milestone.

“Yeah, first of all really great achievement to bring the manufacturer’s world championship title, the first one in Formula E. It’s an official world championship since this year and the team’s title back home to Flachweissach for Porsche. I think we can all be really proud of what we achieved.”

“And it was a long journey when you see how we evolved in the last years. When I think back season eight we finished P7, then in season nine P4, last year P2 and this year the team’s taking the world championship title. It was hard work, a lot of effort, a big journey, but I think we will only realise it later.”

“We enjoyed the moment but what we achieved is amazing, and I’m grateful, thankful to be part of this team. I’m proud of the two drivers, proud of every single person in the team at home in the factory, all the people who supported us on the grandstands here in front of the TV. A lot of support and a big, big thank you.”

Porsche aims higher despite double Formula E Title win

Porsche’s title-winning campaign was built on teamwork, consistency, and strong qualifying performances. Team Principal Modlinger credited much of their success to both drivers regularly reaching the duels and starting from the front.

While the season had its challenges, including crashes, unlucky timing, and races where results didn’t reflect their pace. Modlinger praised the team’s resilience and unity on both sides of the garage. He acknowledged that there were missed opportunities but viewed them as valuable lessons. With both titles secured, Porsche is already focused on improving further, with preparations for next season starting immediately.

“Very important. First of all we have to say the big thing was the qualifying where both of the drivers did an amazing job, the crew did an amazing job. I think with 20 duels participations, no team was close to us.”

“From the duel participations it’s Antonio, Pascal and Olli top three which was the baseline of the success. And then in the races, the race season when you see Pascal in São Paulo completely upside down with a big crash, then recovering and fighting us back on the side of the garage. Antonio starting with a podium but then having been sometimes also unlucky with safety car and then chatter with incidents.”

“Yeah the story of the season I would say quali performance was amazing. We did not collect due to different reasons the points we were good for with the quali pace, we had and there we need to work on. There were some things we cannot influence if you have incidents and DNFs where none of the drivers did a mistake.”

“It’s tough to swallow, but this equals out. I’m not complaining about race luck or bad luck. This is racing that’s part of the game, but we had also some points on our side where we left some things on the table in some races. Where we did not perform as we should. But that’s good because this shows that we have some potential to improve for next year. And these things we will tackle hard immediately starting on Tuesday.”
