Trident Motorsport have confirmed their driver line-up for the 2026 F3 Championship, announcing the return of Danish talent Noah Strømsted. Following an impressive rookie campaign, the 18-year-old will continue with the Italian outfit alongside Freddie Slater and Matteo de Palo.
Building on a promising debut
Strømsted’s 2025 season showcased both raw pace and competitive maturity. He concluded the year sixth in the Drivers’ Championship, amassing 84 points and claiming three podiums. Notably, he secured a Sprint Race victory at Spa-Francorchamps – a standout moment in a season that demonstrated his strong adaptability at the highest junior level.
Moreover, despite some inconsistency across the campaign, his ability to challenge at the front was clear. Returning to a familiar team environment in 2026, Strømsted now aims to translate experience into consistent results.
From F4 prodigy to F3 contender
Strømsted’s rise through the junior ranks has been nothing short of impressive. He burst onto the single-seater scene in 2021, finishing second in the Danish F4 Championship with an extraordinary nine wins from 11 races.
He then made a partial appearance in the 2022 Spanish F4 series, before committing to a full season in 2023, where he earned three podium finishes. In 2024, he stepped up to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), collecting four podiums and ending the season sixth overall.
Each year, he has demonstrated a steep development curve — a trend that Trident are hoping will continue in 2026.
Confidence and clarity ahead of 2026
Speaking on the announcement, Strømsted expressed confidence in his continued partnership with Trident.
“I am very happy to continue with Trident Motorsport in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship,” said Strømsted. “After completing my first full year with the Italian team, I look forward to building on this experience together, starting with the upcoming category collective test scheduled in Jerez.”
Looking ahead, he made his goals for 2026 clear.
“Our goal will be to fight for wins and ultimately the championship throughout the year. The knowledge I have from this year is going to be very important, so we will work hard over the winter to build on that and be ready for 2026.”
Trident expect big things
Trident Team Manager Giacomo Ricci shared the team’s enthusiasm for retaining Strømsted, underlining the benefits of continuity.
“We are very happy to have Noah Strømsted with us for another year in FIA Formula 3,” Ricci said. “In his debut season, the Danish driver showed impressive speed, even if the results were occasionally inconsistent.”
“We are confident that, by spending another year with the same team, Noah can become one of the standout drivers of the 2026 season. He is an extremely dedicated young driver, and with more experience, he will certainly feel more comfortable, both with the team and within the championship format.”
Eyes on the 2026 title
With a full season under his belt and a supportive team behind him, Strømsted enters 2026 as a clear contender for championship honours. Crucially, his familiarity with Trident’s systems, engineers, and race operations will allow him to hit the ground running. Should he maintain his upward trajectory, the young Dane could well be one of the breakout stars of the 2026 campaign.
