Round 7 of the F1 2026 season has been completed around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. View the full race results here.

The starting grid was led by Mercedes’ George Russell and Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton. For the first time so far this season, Kimi Antonelli qualified outside the front row, starting P3. Behind him, Norris, Verstappen, Hadjar, Piastri, Lawson, Hülkenberg, and Leclerc complete the top 10.

As the lights went out, very few positions changed at the front. Hadjar fell back outside the top 10, and Leclerc climbed a few positions, going up to P7. Russell, who appeared much more comfortable the whole weekend after some difficult races, protected his lead.

From the start, track conditions and tyre degradation played an important role. The temperature was 51 Degrees on track, while the air was at 31. Most drivers opted for the medium tyres at the start of the 66-lap race, while some braved the softs. Hamilton was the first to pit and switch out his soft compound for hard tyres in lap 12. While Russell, who started on mediums, and many others followed on the next lap.

After the safety car caused by Alonso and a successful Ferrari strategy, Hamilton stole the lead of the race. The seven-time world champion led comfortably until the end, growing his point gap over Russell behind him in the drivers’ championship, with 115 points in second.
