Freddie Slater remains at the top of the 2026 F3 Drivers’ Championship standings after a dramatic Italian GP Feature Race at Monza, although Ugo Ugochukwu reduced the gap between the title contenders from 17 to 15 points. Slater retired after losing his right-rear wheel, while Ugochukwu recovered from an early spin to finish eighth and score four points.
Elsewhere, Nicola Lacorte became the 13th different F3 winner of the season with a memorable home victory for DAMS Lucas Oil, while Tuukka Taponen and Taito Kato completed the podium. Those results produced several major changes through the midfield of the championship ahead of the final round in Madrid.
Campos Racing continues to lead the Teams’ Championship, but TRIDENT reduced the deficit again. Further behind, ART Grand Prix moved level with Van Amersfoort Racing on points and into third in the official classification, while MP Motorsport overtook Rodin Motorsport and DAMS surged from 10th to seventh.
Slater remains on top despite Feature Race retirement
Slater entered Sunday with 139 points and a 17-point advantage over Ugochukwu after charging from 12th to second in Saturday’s Sprint Race. Starting the Feature Race from pole, the TRIDENT driver initially looked capable of extending that advantage as he retained the lead through the opening stages.
However, Slater began dropping through the field as an apparent problem developed at the rear of his car. His right-rear wheel eventually came away on Lap 13, forcing him to stop and ending his race.
Despite failing to finish, Slater leaves Monza on 141 points rather than the 139 he held after the Sprint. His two additional points came from starting the Feature Race on pole, with F3 awarding two championship points for Feature Race pole position.
Slater therefore remains firmly in control of the standings, although Ugochukwu managed to reduce his advantage before Madrid.
Ugochukwu recovers from P29 to score
Ugochukwu’s Feature Race initially appeared even more damaging than Slater’s. The Campos Racing driver made contact with teammate Théophile Naël at Turn 2 on Lap 2 and spun to the rear of the field, dropping to P29 during another difficult Monza weekend.
However, Ugochukwu recovered impressively. He had climbed to the edge of the points by the final restart and continued progressing during the closing laps, eventually passing Mattia Colnaghi for eighth on the final tour. The result earned him four points and increased his championship total from 122 to 126.
As a result, the gap between Ugochukwu and Slater falls from 17 points after the Sprint to 15 after the Feature Race. The American therefore heads to Madrid closer to the championship leader than he appeared likely to be after his Lap 2 spin.
Rivera holds third as Campos teammates fail to score
Behind the leading pair, Ernesto Rivera retains third place on 76 points despite retiring from the Feature Race. The Campos Racing driver ran near the front during the opening stages but required a replacement front wing before later stopping at Turn 1 during the same phase of the race in which Slater retired.
Naël also failed to score after his difficult race included contact with Ugochukwu and Noah Strømsted. He eventually finished 17th and remains fourth in the championship on 75 points, only one behind Rivera.
Brando Badoer also remains on his pre-race total of 71 after finishing outside the points. However, the Rodin Motorsport driver now shares that total with two drivers who made significant gains on Sunday.
Kato joins Badoer and Yamakoshi on 71 points
Kato followed his maiden Sprint Race victory with another podium on Sunday, scoring 15 points for third place. The ART Grand Prix driver briefly led during another highly competitive race before ultimately finishing behind Lacorte and Taponen.
Those 15 points take Kato from 56 to 71 and lift him from eighth after the Sprint to sixth in the championship. He now sits level with Badoer and Hiyu Yamakoshi, with the official classification placing the three drivers fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.
Yamakoshi also added eight points after finishing sixth. His total rises from 63 to 71, although Kato’s rise means the Van Amersfoort Racing driver drops one position in the official standings despite increasing his points tally.
Only five points now separate Rivera in third from the three drivers tied on 71.
Strømsted scores as Taponen makes major jump
Strømsted added six points for seventh place to move from 59 to 65. However, Kato’s large gain means the TRIDENT driver slips from seventh to eighth in the championship despite scoring in the Feature Race.
Taponen made an even bigger move after taking second place for MP Motorsport. The Finn collected 18 points and increased his total from 46 to 64, moving from 12th after the Sprint all the way to ninth.
That leaves Taponen only one point behind Strømsted and seven behind the three-way tie between Badoer, Kato and Yamakoshi. Maciej Gładysz failed to score and consequently drops from ninth to 10th on 54 points.
Bruno del Pino and Pedro Clerot also failed to add to their totals and fall one position each to 11th and 12th respectively.
David continues impressive Monza weekend
Yevan David followed his charge from P17 to fourth in the Sprint with another fourth-place finish in the Feature Race. The AIX Racing driver again made progress during the closing stages and passed Kanato Le at the final corner to secure 12 points.
David therefore leaves Monza with 34 championship points, having scored 19 across the weekend. His Feature Race result moves him from 18th after the Sprint to 15th in the standings.
Enzo Deligny also reaches 34 points after finishing ninth and collecting three. However, David sits ahead in the official classification, leaving Deligny 16th.
Mattia Colnaghi remains 13th on 44 points after a post-race penalty dropped him out of the points, while Jin Nakamura stays 14th on 39.
Lacorte rockets from 22nd to 17th
Lacorte produced the largest points gain in the Drivers’ Championship by winning his home Feature Race. The DAMS Lucas Oil driver entered Sunday on only eight points after finishing ninth in the Sprint but collected 25 for his maiden F3 victory.
His total consequently jumps to 33, lifting him five places from 22nd to 17th. Lacorte now sits only one point behind David and Deligny despite entering the Italian GP weekend with just six championship points.
Le also made a sizeable gain after finishing fifth. The ART Grand Prix driver added 10 points, increasing his total from 20 to 30 and moving from 21st to 18th.
James Wharton collected the final point in 10th and moves to 29, although the larger gains from David, Lacorte and Le push him down to 19th overall.
Giusti and Sharp lose ground despite unchanged totals
Alessandro Giusti remains on 23 points after his promising Feature Race ended with a retirement. He had fought inside the leading group before receiving the black-and-orange flag and later retiring, leaving him 20th in the championship.
Louis Sharp also failed to score and drops to 21st on 21 points, while Gerrard Xie falls to 22nd on 20 after failing to start the Feature Race.
Matteo De Palo remains 23rd with seven points, followed by Brad Benavides on six. Christian Ho, Fionn McLaughlin and Fernando Barrichello each remain on two points, while José Garfias has one.
The remaining classified drivers are yet to score heading into Madrid.

Slater therefore takes a 15-point advantage over Ugochukwu into Madrid. Further back, the battle for third remains exceptionally close, with Rivera on 76, Naël on 75 and Badoer, Kato and Yamakoshi all on 71. Strømsted and Taponen are also separated by only one point in eighth and ninth.
Campos retains lead as TRIDENT closes again
Campos Racing remains at the top of the Teams’ Championship after adding only four points in the Feature Race. Ugochukwu supplied those points with eighth, while Rivera retired and Naël finished outside the top 10. The team therefore moves from 273 to 277 points.
TRIDENT also endured a mixed Sunday. Slater retired from the lead battle, but his pole position contributed two points while Strømsted added six for seventh place. The team therefore gains eight points and moves from 205 to 213.
As a result, Campos’ advantage falls from 68 points after the Sprint to 64 after the Feature Race. TRIDENT has therefore reduced the deficit across both races at Monza, although Campos retains a substantial advantage heading to Madrid.
ART draws level with Van Amersfoort
ART Grand Prix produced the strongest team score of the Feature Race, adding 25 points through Kato and Le. Kato contributed 15 with third place, while Le collected another 10 by finishing fifth.
The haul takes ART from 130 to 155 points and moves the team from fourth to third in the championship.
Van Amersfoort Racing also reaches 155 points after Yamakoshi scored eight and Deligny added three. However, the official standings place ART third and Van Amersfoort fourth.
The pair now sits 58 points behind TRIDENT but holds a useful advantage over the teams immediately behind.
Taponen moves MP ahead of Rodin
Taponen’s second place also transformed MP Motorsport’s position in the Teams’ Championship. His 18-point haul takes MP from 113 to 131 points, while Colnaghi and Giusti failed to score after penalties and retirement respectively.
MP consequently climbs from sixth to fifth and overtakes Rodin Motorsport, which endured another scoreless race. Pedro Clerot and Brando Badoer both finished outside the points, leaving Rodin on 121.
Only 10 points now separate MP and Rodin, although ART and Van Amersfoort have established a 24-point cushion over MP in the fight for third.
Lacorte victory lifts DAMS three positions
DAMS Lucas Oil made the largest move in the Teams’ Championship thanks entirely to Lacorte’s victory. The team entered the Feature Race 10th on 28 points but added 25 from the Italian’s win to reach 53.
That single result lifts DAMS three places to seventh, moving it ahead of PREMA Racing, AIX Racing and Hitech.
PREMA added one point through Wharton to reach 51 but drops from seventh to eighth. Meanwhile, David’s fourth place added 12 points to AIX Racing’s total, taking the team from 30 to 42 and moving it ahead of Hitech.
Hitech failed to score and remains on 41, consequently dropping from eighth after the Sprint to 10th following the gains made by both DAMS and AIX.
