Ugo Ugochukwu retained the lead of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Drivers’ Championship after the Monaco GP Feature Race, while Brando Badoer’s maiden victory moved him into the top four of the F3 standings.

Badoer claimed his first F3 win after beating pole-sitter Théophile Naël into Turn 1 and leading every lap around the streets of Monte Carlo. Naël finished second for Campos Racing, while Freddie Slater completed the podium for TRIDENT ahead of Drivers’ Championship leader Ugochukwu.

The result also strengthened Campos Racing’s lead in the Teams’ Championship. The Spanish outfit now sits on 75 points, 28 clear of Van Amersfoort Racing, while Rodin Motorsport moved to third after Badoer’s victory.

Ugochukwu keeps 2026 F3 Drivers’ Championship lead after Monaco Feature Race

Ugochukwu left Monaco still leading the Drivers’ Championship after finishing fourth in the Feature Race.

The PREMA Racing driver entered Sunday with the championship lead and added 12 points with fourth place. As a result, he moved to 43 points, giving him an eight-point advantage over Bruno del Pino.

Although Ugochukwu missed out on the podium, he limited the damage on a weekend where several rivals made gains. With Monaco offering limited overtaking opportunities, his fourth-place finish kept him in control of the early title picture.

Del Pino remains second as Slater closes in

Del Pino remains second in the Drivers’ Championship after finishing sixth in the Feature Race.

The Van Amersfoort Racing driver added eight points to move to 35 overall. However, Slater’s podium brought the TRIDENT driver within one point of him. Slater finished third in the race and now sits third in the championship on 34 points.

That leaves the gap from second to third extremely narrow as the championship heads away from Monaco. Del Pino has consistency on his side, while Slater’s Feature Race podium keeps him firmly in the early title fight.

Badoer jumps to fourth after maiden win

Badoer made the biggest move near the front of the standings after taking victory in Monte Carlo.

The Rodin Motorsport driver started second but made the decisive move at the beginning of the race. He got ahead of Naël into Turn 1, controlled the lead from there and crossed the line to claim his first win in the championship.

The 25 points for victory lifted Badoer to fourth in the Drivers’ Championship on 28 points. He now sits six points behind Slater and 15 behind Ugochukwu.

Naël enters the top five

Naël also made a major championship gain after finishing second.

The Campos Racing driver had started from pole but lost the lead to Badoer at the start. However, he held second and scored 20 points, moving him to fifth in the Drivers’ Championship on 22 points.

That result also helped Campos Racing extend its advantage in the Teams’ Championship. Naël’s second place, combined with Ernesto Rivera’s fifth and Pedro Clerot’s eighth, gave Campos a strong points return from the Feature Race.

Campos drivers strengthen team lead

Campos Racing had all three drivers in the Feature Race points.

Naël finished second, Rivera took fifth, and Clerot added points with eighth. Rivera moved to 10 points in the Drivers’ Championship, while Clerot now sits seventh on 16 points.

That result allowed Campos Racing to extend its Teams’ Championship lead. The team now has 75 points, having scored 42 across the Monaco Feature Race according to the official standings table.

Penalties and retirements affect the lower order

The Monaco Feature Race included several penalties and retirements, although they did not alter the podium.

According to the published results, Woohyun Shin received a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane, while Yevan David received a 10-second penalty for causing a collision. Matteo De Palo also received a 10-second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.

Fernando Barrichello and Tuukka Taponen were not classified, while Nicola Lacorte retired. Brad Benavides did not start after withdrawing following the back injury he sustained in Saturday’s Sprint Race.
