Kanato Le started from the front row alongside Maciej Gładysz. However, contact between Xie, Gładysz and Nakamura at Turn 2 on the opening lap disrupted the early stages of the race. Xie suffered a puncture in the incident, while Gładysz and Nakamura were both forced to retire.

Following the restart, Le maintained the lead ahead of Théophile Naël and Ernesto Rivera.

On Lap 9, Naël overtook Le for the race lead. Ugochukwu also made his way up the field, already in P5 by the end of the lap.

Ugochukwu received a 5 second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage on Taponen on Lap 1 of the Sprint, dropping him down the order at the end of the race.

Naël claimed the victory, ahead of Le and Rivera.

Penalties:

  • Ugo Ugochukwu received a five-second in-race penalty. This saw him classified P17 after crossing the line in P10.
  • Hitech’s Jin Nakamura received a three-place grid penalty for Sunday’s Feature Race after being found predominantly at fault for a first-lap collision with DAMS Lucas Oil driver Gerrard Xie at Turn 2. The Stewards reviewed video evidence and heard from both drivers and their team representatives before issuing Nakamura a five-second time penalty. As he failed to finish the Sprint Race, the penalty was converted into a three-place grid drop under Article 39.3(d) of the FIA Formula 3 Sporting Regulations, meaning he will now start the Feature Race from 12th on the grid.
