David Walther left Slovakia Ring as the new leader of the 2026 F4 Central European Zone (CEZ) Championship after a busy third round delivered four races, three different winners and several important shifts in the title fight.
The Maffi Racing driver set the pace early by topping Free Practice and ended the weekend with victory in the final race. Teo Borenstein also emerged as one of the standout performers, taking pole position and two victories for Jenzer Motorsport, while Simon Rechenmacher claimed his maiden F4 CEZ win after a decisive last-lap move in Race 2.
The Slovakia Ring round continued the momentum of a tightly contested season. With a large field again requiring a split-group format, drivers had to combine speed with consistency across changing race combinations. Incidents, penalties and Safety Car periods also shaped the weekend, ensuring that the championship order changed significantly by Sunday evening.
As a result, Walther now leads the Drivers’ Championship on 167 points, ahead of Elia Weiss on 154. Borenstein’s double victory moved him to 145 points, while Max Karhan remains fourth on 128. In the Teams’ Championship, Jenzer Motorsport strengthened its advantage after another strong weekend across its driver line-up.
Walther sets the early pace as Round 3 of the 2026 F4 CEZ Championship gets underway at the Slovakia Ring
David Walther opened the Slovakia Ring weekend at the top of the combined Free Practice classification, giving Maffi Racing an early benchmark in Round 3 of the 2026 F4 CEZ Championship.
Free Practice ran across two 40-minute heats, with 19 drivers in Heat 1 and 18 in Heat 2. Although Simon Rechenmacher led the opening session with a 2:03.949, the second heat produced the fastest times of the morning. Walther set a 2:03.369 in Heat 2 to finish fastest overall, 0.125s ahead of Jenzer Motorsport’s Teo Borenstein. Rechenmacher’s Heat 1 benchmark placed him third in the combined order, making him, Walther and Borenstein the only drivers to break the 2:04 barrier.
Max Karhan finished fourth overall after taking second in Heat 1, while Markas Silkunas completed the combined top five with third place in Heat 2. With Walther, Borenstein, Rechenmacher, Karhan and Silkunas all showing strong pace early, Free Practice immediately established the main contenders before Qualifying later in the day.

2026 F4 CEZ Slovakia Ring Qualifying: Borenstein fastest with record pace
Teo Borenstein delivered the fastest lap of Qualifying at Slovakia Ring, putting Jenzer Motorsport on pole position for Round 3 of the 2026 F4 CEZ Championship.
Qualifying again ran across two 20-minute heats. Simon Rechenmacher topped Heat 1 with a 2:03.110 for Cram Motorsport, placing him ahead of Elia Weiss and Max Karhan. However, Borenstein went quicker in Heat 2, first setting a 2:02.790, the fastest F4 CEZ Qualifying lap recorded at Slovakia Ring. Although the stewards later deleted that lap for unnecessarily slow driving in sector three, his second-best time of 2:02.995 still secured the fastest overall time.
As a result, Borenstein headed the combined Qualifying order, with Rechenmacher second overall and David Walther third after setting a 2:03.248 in Heat 2. Mathilda Paatz finished fourth overall for Mathilda Racing, while Weiss completed the combined top five.

2026 F4 CEZ Slovakia Ring Race 1: Borenstein wins after Rechenmacher penalty
Teo Borenstein converted pole position into victory in Race 1 at Slovakia Ring, giving Jenzer Motorsport the first win of Round 3.
The opening race featured Groups A and B, with Borenstein starting from pole alongside Simon Rechenmacher. Elia Weiss and Mathilda Paatz lined up on the second row, while Markas Silkunas and Antonio Errigo started from row three. However, the start procedure was delayed when Benet Gaspar stopped in Sector 2 during the formation lap, forcing the field to complete an additional formation lap before racing began.
When the race started, Borenstein held the lead while Weiss attempted to challenge around the outside of Turn 1. The move did not work, and Weiss dropped to fourth. On the opening lap, contact between Alexandre Louza and Igor Polak sent both cars into the gravel and brought out the Safety Car.
At the restart, Borenstein kept first place, but Paatz immediately came under pressure from Rechenmacher. Their battle ended with Paatz spinning on the start-finish straight, although she avoided further contact and continued. The incident promoted Weiss to second, ahead of Rechenmacher, Silkunas and Errigo.
Rechenmacher then attacked Weiss and moved into second at the end of lap five. He closed onto Borenstein in the final stages and used the slipstream out of the final corner, but Borenstein crossed the line first by only 0.105s. However, Rechenmacher later received a 10-second penalty for the incident with Paatz and dropped to fourth in the final classification. As a result, Weiss moved up to second and Silkunas inherited third.
Borenstein therefore took the win by 1.874s from Weiss, while Silkunas completed a Jenzer Motorsport podium sweep. Rechenmacher still recorded the fastest lap of the race with a 2:03.768.

2026 F4 CEZ Slovakia Ring Race 2: Rechenmacher claims maiden F4 CEZ victory after final-lap move
Simon Rechenmacher bounced back from his Race 1 penalty by claiming his maiden F4 CEZ victory in Race 2 at Slovakia Ring. The Cram Motorsport driver started from pole in the Group B and C race, before defeating David Walther after a close final-lap fight.
Rechenmacher shared the front row with Walther, while Mathilda Paatz and Max Karhan lined up on the second row. Paatz made the best start and moved into the lead on the run to Turn 1, but Walther responded immediately and reclaimed first place at Turn 2.
Later on the opening lap, contact involving Alexia Danielsson, Andreas Lo Bue and Benet Gaspar brought out the Safety Car. At that stage, Walther led from Paatz, Rechenmacher, Karhan, Dean Pedersen, Erik Poulsen, Antonio Errigo, Jorge Luis Bruno, Ella Häkkinen and Aleksandar Bogunovic.
When racing resumed with 16 minutes remaining, Walther kept the lead while Rechenmacher moved around the outside of Paatz to take second. Paatz then came under pressure from the cars behind, with Pedersen and Karhan both finding a way through. However, Pedersen later received a 10-second penalty for a jump start, which dropped him from fourth on the road to 11th in the final classification.
At the front, Rechenmacher gradually closed the gap to Walther. With five minutes remaining, he had reduced the margin to just two tenths and began searching for a way past. Walther defended firmly, but Rechenmacher made the decisive move on the final lap. He attacked into Turn 1, briefly took the lead, and then held on after Walther fought back at Turn 3.
Rechenmacher crossed the line 0.601s ahead of Walther to secure his first F4 CEZ victory. Karhan completed the podium for Jenzer Motorsport, while Paatz was promoted to fourth after Pedersen’s penalty. Rechenmacher also set the fastest lap of the race with a 2:03.836.

2026 F4 CEZ Slovakia Ring Race 3: Borenstein completes pole, fastest lap and victory
Teo Borenstein delivered the most complete performance of the Slovakia Ring weekend in Race 3, converting pole position into victory and adding the fastest lap to secure maximum points for Jenzer Motorsport.
The race featured Groups A and C, with Borenstein starting from pole alongside David Walther. Elia Weiss and Max Karhan occupied the second row, while Markas Silkunas and Dean Pedersen started from the third row. Borenstein made a strong start and retained the lead into Turn 1, while Weiss moved ahead of Walther to take second. Unlike the two Saturday races, the opening lap ran without major incident, although drivers battled closely throughout the field.
At the end of the opening lap, Borenstein led from Weiss, Walther, Silkunas, Pedersen, Karhan, Georgiy Zasov, Mio Olert, Aleksandar Bogunovic and Erik Poulsen. Walther then passed Weiss on lap two and began to close on Borenstein. However, the race was later red-flagged after contact between Olert and Piotr Wiktor Orcholski at the exit of the fast Turn 2 sent both cars into the tyre barriers.
After barrier repairs, the race resumed behind the Safety Car with 12 minutes remaining. Walther attacked immediately at the restart and briefly swept around the outside of Borenstein at Turn 1. However, Borenstein responded at the following corner and reclaimed the lead. Pedersen also made a strong restart and climbed into second before Walther fought back to regain the position.
The race ended under Safety Car after Bien Cezary stopped in the gravel while fighting inside the points-paying positions. Borenstein therefore crossed the line first, 0.275s ahead of Walther, while Pedersen secured his maiden F4 CEZ podium in third. Borenstein also set the fastest lap of the race with a 2:03.735.
Stefan Treneski and Albert Pisarik both received five-second penalties, but the top 10 remained unchanged.

2026 F4 CEZ Slovakia Ring: Race 4: Walther wins final race after restart drama
David Walther became the third different winner of the Slovakia Ring weekend after taking victory in Race 4, the final race of Round 3 of the 2026 F4 CEZ Championship.
The race brought the full field together, with Teo Borenstein and Walther again starting from the front row. Simon Rechenmacher and Elia Weiss lined up behind them, while Max Karhan and Markas Silkunas shared the third row. Dean Pedersen and Erik Poulsen started from row four, with Antonio Errigo and Aleksandar Bogunovic completing the top 10 on the grid.
Borenstein held the lead into Turn 1, but Walther immediately applied pressure through Turns 2 and 3. Although Borenstein defended through the opening corners, Walther found a way past before the end of the first lap and moved into the lead. Once ahead, the Maffi Racing driver began to build a gap while Borenstein focused on defending from Rechenmacher.
Rechenmacher eventually passed Borenstein and moved into second, placing himself behind Walther. However, the race changed after contact between David Gorcica and Mathilda Paatz eliminated both drivers and brought out the Safety Car. At the restart, Rechenmacher suffered a technical issue just as Walther accelerated away. Because overtaking was prohibited before the start-finish line, the problem created hesitation in the pack and allowed Walther to open a decisive advantage.
Walther controlled the remainder of the race and crossed the line first after 11 laps. Borenstein finished second on the road and remained there in the amended provisional classification. Pedersen initially completed the podium, but a 10-second penalty for overtaking before the Safety Car control line dropped him to 10th. Weiss also received a five-second penalty for contact with Bogunovic, which moved him down to sixth. As a result, Silkunas inherited third, ahead of Georgiy Zasov and Erik Poulsen.
Walther also set the fastest lap of the race with a 2:04.035. The amended provisional classification noted that several cars remained under investigation pending manufacturer statements.

Conclusion: Slovakia Ring reshapes the F4 CEZ title fight
Round 3 at Slovakia Ring proved decisive in changing the direction of the 2026 F4 CEZ Championship.
Walther arrived as one of the main title contenders and left as the new championship leader after combining consistency with victory in the final race. Borenstein also made a major gain with two wins and pole position, while Rechenmacher confirmed his front-running pace by taking his maiden F4 CEZ victory.
Although Weiss lost the championship lead, he remains firmly in contention, while Karhan continues to stay close inside the top four. Behind them, Silkunas, Zasov and the wider Jenzer Motorsport line-up helped the Swiss team extend its advantage in the Teams’ Championship.
With four races, three different winners, several penalties and late-race drama, Slovakia Ring added another unpredictable chapter to the season. The championship now heads towards its summer break with Walther in front, but the fight remains open as F4 CEZ prepares to resume at Autodrom Most from 31 July to 2 August.
