Evagoras Papasavvas retained the lead of the 2026 Formula Regional Americas Championship (FRAC) after Round 4 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), but Brady Golan’s dominant weekend brought the title fight much closer.
Golan claimed pole position and won all three races for Toney Driver Development, reducing Papasavvas’s advantage from 31 points after Mid-Ohio to 17.5. Cooper Shipman remains third, while Kekai Hauanio moved ahead of Christian Bogle into fourth after returning to the podium in the final race.
The Teams’ Championship also tightened considerably. Crosslink Motorsports still leads, but Toney Driver Development reduced the gap to seven points after Golan won both Sunday races. However, the official standings currently exclude points from Indianapolis Race 1 because an appeal remains unresolved, while Race 3 awarded half points.
Papasavvas retains the lead as Golan closes in
Papasavvas arrived at Indianapolis with 118.5 points and a commanding 31-point advantage over Golan. His weekend began with a setback when officials removed all his Qualifying times, forcing him to start Race 1 from the back of the grid.
Despite that disadvantage, the Crosslink Motorsports rookie produced one of the strongest drives of the weekend and recovered to second. However, the championship has not yet included points from that result because officials placed the Race 1 classification on hold pending the outcome of an appeal. Papasavvas therefore scored his official Indianapolis points across the two Sunday races. He finished third in Race 2 and collected 15 points before taking second in the shortened Race 3 for another nine. Those results increased his total to 142.5.
Although Papasavvas remains in control of the standings, Indianapolis reduced the cushion he had built during the opening three rounds. His consistency continues to protect the lead, but Golan now sits close enough to place sustained pressure on him heading into the next event.
Golan transforms the championship with a perfect weekend
Golan produced the strongest weekend of his FRAC season by taking pole position and winning all three races. The Toney Driver Development driver controlled Race 1 from the front before passing Papasavvas following late restarts in both Sunday contests.
The unresolved Race 1 appeal means that Golan has not yet received the 25 points normally awarded for his opening victory. Even so, he collected 25 points for winning Race 2 and another 12.5 for his Race 3 success under the half-points format. His official 37.5-point gain moved him from 87.5 to 125 points. More importantly, it reduced Papasavvas’s championship advantage by 13.5 points.
Golan also created more breathing room behind him. He began the weekend only half a point ahead of Shipman, but now leads the Kiwi Motorsport rookie by 14 points.
Shipman strengthens third despite losing ground to Golan
Shipman entered Indianapolis firmly in the fight for second and remained one of the weekend’s most consistent performers. He finished third in Race 1, although those points remain excluded from the official championship totals.
On Sunday, Shipman charged from eighth to second in Race 2 and narrowly beat Papasavvas to the line by 0.216 seconds. He then finished fourth in Race 3 after Hauanio claimed the final podium position. Those two results added 24 points to Shipman’s total and moved him from 87 to 111. He now trails Golan by 14 points and Papasavvas by 31.5.
Although the gap to second increased, Shipman strengthened his position in third. He now holds a 20.5-point advantage over Hauanio, giving him a clear cushion over the drivers immediately behind.
Hauanio moves ahead of Bogle into fourth
Hauanio endured a difficult Race 2 after a puncture disrupted his challenge. He had briefly moved ahead of Golan before the issue forced him into the pits and left him 10th, with only one point. The Crosslink rookie responded strongly in Race 3. He moved ahead of Shipman and held third place through the closing stages, collecting 7.5 points under the half-points format.
That podium increased Hauanio’s total to 90.5 and lifted him ahead of Bogle into fourth. He now leads the Toney Driver Development driver by eight points.
Bogle finished fourth in Race 1, but the pending appeal means that he has not yet received points for the result. He then failed to finish either Sunday race and remains on 82.5, dropping from fourth to fifth.
Powers remains sixth as Dass leads the midfield gains
Luke Powers retained sixth place after scoring in both Sunday races. The Indianapolis-area driver finished sixth in Race 2 before adding eighth in Race 3, increasing his total by 10 points. Powers now has 55 points. Although Bogle remains 27.5 points ahead, Powers strengthened his position over the midfield group behind him.
Harbir Dass made the largest gain in that section of the standings. The Kiwi Motorsport rookie finished fourth in Race 2 and followed it with sixth in Race 3, despite receiving a 30-second penalty for causing a collision. Those results added 16 points to his total and moved him into seventh on 39 points. He now leads James Lawley by five.
Lawley drops as Wolfe and Wisniewski draw level
Lawley failed to score in either Sunday race after retiring from both contests. His Race 1 result remains part of the unresolved classification, leaving him on 34 points. As a result, the Atlantic Racing Team driver dropped from seventh to eighth. He now trails Dass by five points and holds a four-point advantage over the two drivers tied behind him.
Barrett Wolfe and Eric Wisniewski both leave Indianapolis with 30 points. Wolfe finished seventh in Race 2 and ninth in Race 3, while Wisniewski followed ninth in the second race with fifth in the finale. Each driver added seven points during the two counting races. Wolfe occupies ninth ahead of Wisniewski in the official order.
Bobadilla climbs as the lower order changes
Alejandro Bobadilla produced his strongest points result of the season by finishing fifth in Race 2. The Crosslink rookie earned 10 points and climbed to 11th with 23.
Aidan Schuh added three points through seventh in Race 3 and now holds 20. However, Bobadilla’s stronger weekend moved him ahead and pushed Schuh down to 12th.
Whitney Strickland remains 13th with 11 points, while Jonathan Cottrill stays 14th on six after missing the round. Kevin Janzen added half a point through 10th in Race 3 and now has 4.5.
Anthony Autiello collected four points for eighth in Race 2, while Jake Pollack completes the standings without a point.

Strickland remains ahead in the Masters Cup
Strickland won the Masters Cup classification in Race 1 after recovering from a stalled start. However, the championship has not yet added those points because the overall result remains under appeal. He then failed to finish Race 2 and did not start Race 3, leaving him on 66 points. Even so, Strickland continues to lead the class by 19.5 points.
Janzen retired from Race 2 but became the only classified Masters Cup competitor in Race 3. His class victory earned six points under the half-points format and moved him to 46.5.
Autiello claimed the Masters Cup victory in Race 2 and collected 12 points. He now sits third on 31, 15.5 behind Janzen and 35 behind Strickland.

Crosslink retains control of the Teams’ Championship
Crosslink Motorsports entered Indianapolis with a 13-point lead over Toney Driver Development. Papasavvas, Hauanio and Bobadilla then helped the team add 41.5 points from the two races currently included in the standings. Papasavvas and Bobadilla supplied Crosslink’s two scoring results in Race 2 by finishing third and fifth. Together, they earned 25 points. In Race 3, Papasavvas finished second and Hauanio took third. Their combined half-points return added another 16.5, moving Crosslink from 209.5 to 251.
The team remains first, but Toney’s stronger Sunday reduced its advantage to seven points. The unresolved Race 1 result could tighten the contest further once officials settle the appeal.
Toney closes to within seven points
Golan led Toney Driver Development’s Indianapolis charge by winning both Sunday races. Powers supplied the team’s second eligible score in each contest because only the two highest-finishing cars from each team contribute towards the Teams’ Championship.
Golan and Powers combined for 33 points in Race 2 before adding another 14.5 in the half-points Race 3. That gave Toney a total gain of 47.5. The team moved from 196.5 to 244 and outscored Crosslink by six points across the two counting races. Consequently, Toney reduced the championship deficit from 13 points to seven.
Race 1 could still prove significant because Golan won and Bogle finished fourth. However, those results will not affect the standings until officials resolve the appeal.
Kiwi Motorsport strengthens third place
Shipman and Dass delivered a strong Indianapolis weekend for Kiwi Motorsport. Their second and fourth-place finishes in Race 2 earned the team 30 points. They then added another 10 in Race 3 after Shipman finished fourth and Dass took sixth. Kiwi therefore increased its total from 110 to 150.
The team remains third and holds a commanding advantage over the rest of the field. However, it still trails Toney by 94 points and Crosslink by 101.
Hillenburg moves ahead of Atlantic Racing Team
Hillenburg Motorsports and Atlantic Racing Team arrived at Indianapolis tied on 34 points. Wisniewski then scored in both Sunday races and gave Hillenburg the advantage. His ninth-place finish in Race 2 earned two points before fifth in Race 3 added another five. Hillenburg therefore moved to 41 points and took fourth place outright.
Atlantic remained on 34 after Lawley failed to score. MLT Motorsports stays sixth with six points, while Autiello’s Race 2 result gave Momentum Motorsports its first four points of the season.
2026 FRAC Teams’ Standings after Round 4 at IMS
- Crosslink Motorsports – 251 points
- Toney Driver Development – 244 points
- Kiwi Motorsport – 150 points
- Hillenburg Motorsports – 41 points
- Atlantic Racing Team – 34 points
- MLT Motorsports – 6 points
- Momentum Motorsports – 4 points
Only a team’s two highest-finishing cars score towards the Teams’ Championship. The standings currently exclude Indianapolis Race 1 points.
Indianapolis tightens both FRAC championship battles
Papasavvas continues to lead the Drivers’ Championship, but Golan transformed the title fight with a perfect Indianapolis weekend. The gap has fallen from 31 points to 17.5, while Shipman remains securely placed in third.
Golan carries the strongest momentum after taking pole position and all three victories. However, Papasavvas continues to protect the lead through consistency, while Hauanio’s move into fourth further strengthened Crosslink’s position.
The Teams’ Championship remains even closer. Crosslink still holds first place, but Toney reduced the deficit to only seven points after outscoring its rival across the two Sunday races.
FRAC will continue at New Jersey Motorsports Park from 31 July to 2 August. Papasavvas and Crosslink will arrive as the championship leaders, but Golan and Toney now sit close enough to challenge for both leads.
