Maxim Rehm topped the opening day of official 2026 GB3 Championship testing at Snetterton as Rodin Motorsport locked out the top three positions in Tuesday’s combined classification.
The German driver set the pace in the fourth and final session with a 1:39.735, edging teammate Martin Molnar by just 0.012s. Abbi Pulling completed Rodin’s dominant day in third, only 0.030s away from Rehm’s benchmark.
Variable weather shaped the day across the Snetterton 300 layout, but the fastest times still arrived late in the afternoon as conditions improved for the final 50-minute session.
Rodin takes control in final session
Rodin Motorsport had already shown strong pace across the day, but the team delivered its clearest statement in the fourth session.
Rehm moved to the top with a 1:39.735 on his 12th lap of the session, while Molnar followed closely with a 1:39.747. Pulling then added a 1:39.765 to complete an all-Rodin top three, with the trio split by only 0.030s.
The result marked an impressive response from Rodin after a mixed weather day. Moreover, the team placed all three cars ahead of the rest of the field, underlining its strong form before testing continues on Wednesday.
Fairclough and Vinci complete the top five
Hitech’s Deagen Fairclough finished fourth overall after setting his best time in the second session. The British driver topped that session with a 1:39.899 and ended the day 0.164s away from Rehm’s overall pace.
Dante Vinci completed the top five for Hillspeed. The Australian had started the day strongly by leading the opening session with a 1:40.068, before improving to a 1:39.969 in the final session.
As a result, the top five drivers finished within just over a quarter of a second, with Rodin, Hitech and Hillspeed all showing competitive pace across different points of the day.
Gonzalez heads VRD runners
Rodrigo Gonzalez led VRD Racing’s effort in sixth overall after recording a 1:40.459 in the final session. He finished 0.724s off Rehm’s benchmark and just under half a second behind the top five.
Aurelia Nobels followed in seventh for Hillspeed, with her best lap of 1:40.552 coming in the second session. Meanwhile, an unnamed Fortec Motorsport driver placed eighth overall after improving to a 1:40.706 in the final session.
Championship leader Nikita Bedrin took ninth for VRD Racing with a 1:40.796, while Elite Motorsport’s Kyuho Lee completed the top 10. Lee ended the day on a 1:40.847, placing the top 10 within 1.112s in the final session and 1.078s in the combined order.
New faces gain GB3 testing mileage
A total of 18 drivers took part in Tuesday’s running, with several teams giving new drivers their first official GB3 test appearances.
Leon Hedfors placed 15th overall for Xcel Motorsport, while Maltese driver Jacob Micallef finished 16th for Hitech. Meanwhile, GB4 podium finisher Emilio Valentino Del Grosso sampled GB3 machinery with Elite Motorsport and ended the day 18th overall.
Testing will resume at Snetterton on Wednesday, with four further sessions scheduled as teams and drivers continue preparations.
