Nikita Bedrin retained a commanding lead in the 2026 GB3 Championship despite enduring his lowest-scoring weekend of the season during Round 5 at Silverstone.
The VRD Racing driver arrived with a 106-point advantage but struggled during Qualifying before finishing eighth in Race 1, fifth in Race 2 and fifth again in the reverse-grid finale. Nevertheless, his closest rivals failed to take full advantage, and his championship lead fell by only three points to 103.
Martin Molnar moved into second after three points finishes, while Lucas Fluxá slipped to third following his difficult opening race. Deagen Fairclough made the largest move near the front after winning the first two races and climbing from 10th to sixth, while Rowan Campbell-Pilling also gained two places following consecutive podiums.
The Teams’ Championship remains considerably closer. VRD Racing retains first place, but Rodin Motorsport reduced the deficit from 47 to 40 points. Meanwhile, Hitech’s three Silverstone victories helped it close to within only 10 points of third-placed Xcel Motorsport.
Drivers’ Championship: Bedrin limits damage with 103-point advantage
Bedrin arrived at Silverstone having scored 319 points across the opening four events, including six victories from the first 11 races. His record-breaking 97-point haul at the Red Bull Ring had given him a 106-point advantage over Fluxá and left the championship leader more than a full race weekend clear of his nearest rival.
However, Silverstone immediately proved more challenging. Bedrin qualified 11th in the opening session before penalties elsewhere moved him to 10th on the Race 1 grid. He could only recover to eighth, scoring 13 points while Fairclough, Molnar and Campbell-Pilling occupied the podium.
Bedrin improved in Race 2. He ran behind Molnar for much of the contest and repeatedly threatened a move, although a black-and-white flag for track limits hindered his late challenge. Fifth added another 19 points before he secured fifth again in Race 3, gaining one position from sixth on the reversed grid and therefore adding 12 points when the overtaking bonus was included. GB3 awards additional Race 3 points for positions gained from the starting grid.
His 44-point haul lifts him from 319 to 363 points. Although it represents his lowest score from an event this season, the damage to his championship position remained minimal because the drivers immediately behind him also encountered setbacks. Bedrin therefore heads into the summer break with a 103-point advantage and three events remaining.
Molnar moves into second as Fluxá slips to third
Molnar emerged as Bedrin’s nearest championship rival after a consistently strong Silverstone weekend.
The Rodin Motorsport driver started Race 1 from second and briefly took the lead from Fairclough following an early Safety Car period. Fairclough eventually reclaimed first at Vale, but Molnar resisted Campbell-Pilling to finish second and collect 29 points.
He followed that result with fourth in Race 2. Molnar initially ran third before Fluxá moved back ahead, and he then spent much of the remaining contest defending from Bedrin. Another 21 points took his weekend total to 50 before the reverse-grid finale.
Race 3 proved considerably less productive. Molnar started ninth and finished 12th, adding only four points and bringing his Silverstone haul to 54. Nevertheless, he moves from 206 to 260 points and climbs above Fluxá into second.
Fluxá endured a far more volatile weekend. He qualified third for Race 1 but dropped to 17th after contact with Maxim Rehm at Brooklands. However, the Xcel Motorsport driver recovered strongly on Sunday and finished third in Race 2 before climbing from 10th to ninth in Race 3.
Those results add 36 points to Fluxá’s total, moving him to 249. He now trails Molnar by 11 points and Bedrin by 114.
Rehm remains fourth after another mixed weekend
Rehm remains fourth in the standings after scoring 44 points, matching Bedrin’s Silverstone total.
The Rodin driver crossed the line fourth in Race 1 but received a one-second penalty for overlapping at the Control Line during the Safety Car restart. That sanction promoted Jackes and dropped Rehm to fifth. He also received a grid penalty after the stewards held him responsible for his collision with Fluxá.
Rehm recovered from eighth on the Race 2 grid to finish sixth and then spent much of Race 3 battling the Xcel Motorsport pair. He initially finished seventh in the finale, but a one-position penalty for crowding Fluxá off the circuit dropped him behind Campbell-Pilling to eighth.
His total increases from 193 to 237 points. Rehm now sits 12 behind Fluxá and 23 behind teammate Molnar, while Bedrin remains 126 points ahead.
Fairclough surges from 10th to sixth after double victory
Fairclough produced the largest move among the leading championship contenders after transforming his season with a dominant Silverstone weekend.
The Hitech driver claimed his first two GB3 pole positions before converting both into victories. He defeated Molnar in a tense Race 1 battle before controlling Race 2 under sustained pressure from Campbell-Pilling.
Fairclough then started 12th in the reversed-grid finale and recovered to 10th. The two positions gained gave him additional bonus points, meaning he collected 78 points across the three races.
That haul takes Fairclough from 102 to 180 points and moves him four places from 10th to sixth. He now sits only eight points behind Patricio Gonzalez in fifth and has moved ahead of Campbell-Pilling, Jackes, Pulling and Lee.
Gonzalez retains fifth despite Fairclough’s rapid progress. The VRD Racing driver finished 10th in Race 1 and seventh in Race 2 before climbing from seventh to fourth in the finale. His 42-point weekend moves him onto 188.
Campbell-Pilling climbs to seventh after double podium
Campbell-Pilling also made substantial progress after producing his strongest weekend of the season.
The Xcel Motorsport driver followed Molnar closely throughout Race 1 and finished third, securing his second podium of the season. He improved to second in Race 2 after remaining within DRS range of Fairclough for much of the contest.
Campbell-Pilling then started 11th in Race 3 and climbed to seventh. Rehm’s post-race penalty promoted him one position, while his four overtakes added another four bonus points to the nine awarded for seventh place.
His 66-point weekend moves him from 105 to 171 points and from ninth to seventh in the standings. He now sits nine behind Fairclough and 11 clear of Jackes.
Jackes drops from sixth to eighth despite scoring in all three races. Fourth in Race 1 provided the bulk of his points before ninth and 13th on Sunday lifted his total from 124 to 160.
Pulling also loses two positions and now sits ninth on 142. She finished sixth in Race 1 and 10th in Race 2, but retired from the reverse-grid finale after completing 13 laps.
Lee completes the championship top 10 on 134 points after three further points finishes.
Wilson climbs five positions as Micallef charges up standings
Leon Wilson made one of the largest positional gains further down the championship.
The Arden Motorsport driver finished seventh, eighth and sixth across the three Silverstone races, scoring 38 points and moving from 16th to 11th on 120. His consistent weekend places him three points ahead of Rodrigo Gonzalez, who rises one position to 12th after ending Race 3 only 0.176s away from victory.
Dante Vinci remains 13th with 105 points, while Race 3 winner Jacob Micallef makes another significant move.
Micallef started the weekend 18th on 57 points. Ninth in Race 1 and 11th in Race 2 brought steady progress before he produced the defining drive of the finale. After initially dropping from third to fourth, he passed Wilson, Edu Robinson and finally Rodrigo Gonzalez to secure victory with an outside move at Brooklands on the final lap.
His 44-point weekend takes him to 101 and lifts him four places to 14th, just four points behind Vinci.
Robinson scores 33 points on GB3 debut
Edu Robinson also made an immediate impact after joining Elite Motorsport for the Silverstone weekend.
The newcomer finished 12th in each of the opening two races before starting the reversed-grid finale from pole. Rodrigo Gonzalez took the lead at the start, but Robinson remained in the fight throughout and eventually finished third behind Micallef and Gonzalez.
Those results give Robinson 33 points from his first GB3 event. His Race 3 podium also gives him the stronger countback among the drivers tied on that total.

The totals follow GB3’s official scoring system, which awards points down to 20th in Races 1 and 2 and adds overtaking bonus points during the reversed-grid Race 3.
Teams’ Championship: VRD retains lead as Rodin closes in
VRD Racing remains at the head of the Teams’ Championship, although its advantage narrowed at Silverstone.
The team entered Round 5 with 490 points and a 47-point lead over Rodin after winning all three races at the Red Bull Ring. Silverstone produced no victories for VRD, but Bedrin continued to score consistently while Patricio Gonzalez finished fourth in the finale and Rodrigo Gonzalez came within two tenths of winning Race 3.
VRD added 91 points to move onto 581. Rodin scored seven more across the event, adding 98 and reaching 541 points.
Molnar’s runner-up finish in Race 1 and fourth place in Race 2 provided important contributions, while Rehm added points in every contest. Pulling also scored in the opening two races before her Race 3 retirement.
Consequently, Rodin reduces its deficit from 47 to 40 points with nine races remaining.
Hitech closes to within 10 points of Xcel
The battle for third also tightened dramatically as Hitech produced the strongest team performance of the Silverstone weekend.
Fairclough won the first two races before Micallef completed Hitech’s clean sweep with his dramatic Race 3 victory. The team collected 122 points across the weekend and increased its total from 314 to 436.
Xcel Motorsport also enjoyed a productive weekend despite Fluxá’s Race 1 setback. Campbell-Pilling secured third and second in the opening two races, while Fluxá joined him on the Race 2 podium. Together, the team added 102 points and moved from 344 to 446.
Therefore, Xcel retains third place, but its 30-point pre-event advantage over Hitech has fallen to only 10.
Elite remains fifth as Arden closes on Hillspeed
Elite Motorsport remains fifth after adding 75 points at Silverstone.
Jackes finished fourth in Race 1, while Lee scored throughout the weekend and Robinson completed his debut event with a Race 3 podium. Those results take Elite from 259 to 334 points, leaving it 102 behind Hitech but comfortably clear of the teams behind.
Hillspeed remains sixth with 197 points, while Arden Motorsport closes significantly after Wilson’s three top-eight finishes. Arden added 38 points to reach 181, reducing the gap between the two teams to 16.
Fortec Motorsports moves onto 73 points after returning to the grid with Taylor, while Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing reaches 22 through Pribyl’s three classified finishes.

Conclusion: Bedrin retains control despite Fairclough breakthrough
Silverstone produced Bedrin’s most difficult weekend of 2026, but it did remarkably little damage to his overall championship position.
The VRD Racing driver scored only 44 points after failing to reach the podium for the first time at an event this season. Nevertheless, Molnar’s move into second leaves Bedrin with a 103-point advantage, only three fewer than he held before the weekend.
Molnar and Fluxá now occupy second and third with only 11 points separating them, while Rehm sits another 12 behind. Patricio Gonzalez remains fifth, but Fairclough’s double victory has propelled the Hitech driver from 10th to sixth and only eight points away from the top five.
Campbell-Pilling also made substantial progress through his two podiums, while Micallef’s dramatic Race 3 victory moved him four positions up the standings.
The Teams’ Championship remains considerably tighter. VRD Racing carries a 40-point advantage over Rodin Motorsport, while only 10 points now separate Xcel and Hitech in the fight for third.
GB3 now enters a break before Round 6 at Donington Park, with the race weekend taking place on September 5–6. Bedrin will arrive with his commanding championship advantage intact, but Silverstone demonstrated that the battle behind him remains far from settled.
