Fred Green put Elite Motorsport on top as GB4 pre-event testing concluded at Donington Park on Friday. The championship leader produced the day’s fastest lap in the opening session, recording a 1:30.172 around his local circuit.
Green’s effort placed him 0.362s clear of Fortec Motorsports’ Thomas Ingram Hill, who led the second and third sessions. Hillspeed’s Enzo Hallman topped the final run and completed the combined top three, while rising temperatures prevented the field from improving on the morning benchmark.
Green controls opener as Ingram Hill leads twice
Green established Friday’s outright pace on his final lap of the opening session, with Ingram Hill his nearest challenger on a 1:30.534. Hallman followed in third ahead of Fortec rookie Franciszek Cegielski and Thursday pacesetter Alex O’Grady.
Ingram Hill moved to the front in session two with a 1:30.963, edging Hallman by just 0.016s. Pace Performance’s Torrin Byrne finished another 0.012s behind in third, while Connor Willis and John O’Donnell completed the top five.
The Fortec driver remained quickest in session three, posting a 1:31.065 to beat Luke Hilton by 0.095s. Cegielski followed only 0.002s further back, giving Fortec two cars inside the top three, while O’Grady and Byrne rounded out the top five.
Hallman then led the final session with a 1:30.810. O’Grady took second, just 0.143s behind, while Hilton, Byrne and rookie Conor Grant completed a top five separated by 0.171s.
Cegielski heads rookies as top 10 stay within 0.809s
Cegielski finished fourth overall and led the rookie classification with a 1:30.773. O’Grady followed in fifth, while Green’s Elite Motorsport teammate Emilio Valentino Del Grosso and Scorpio Racing’s Archie Davies completed the top seven.
Each of the leading seven drivers set their best time during the opening session before temperatures increased throughout the day. Hilton secured eighth overall through his final-session effort, with Byrne and Grant completing the top 10.
Only 0.809s covered the first 10 drivers, while the leading 14 finished within 1.031s of Green’s benchmark. Competitive action begins on Saturday with qualifying at 11:10 before Race 1 starts at 16:25.
