Thomas Ingram Hill responded to his Race 1 disappointment by claiming his maiden GB4 Championship victory in the second contest at Silverstone in 2026.

The Fortec Motorsport driver started second but immediately passed polesitter Fred Green at Turn 1. Unlike their opening-lap clash in Race 1, the pair kept their battle clean before Ingram Hill gradually established control.

Green remained close during the early stages but eventually had to settle for second, while Race 1 winner Luke Hilton resisted Torrin Byrne to secure his fifth consecutive podium.

Ingram Hill takes lead at Turn 1

Green started Race 2 from pole, with Ingram Hill alongside him after both drivers endured difficult opening races on Saturday.

Their previous battle ended in contact at Maggotts, forcing Ingram Hill into the pits and leaving Green without a front wing. However, the Fortec driver made the better start on Sunday and immediately challenged for first place.

Ingram Hill swept past Green at Turn 1 and completed the move without contact. He then made full use of the clear track and established an advantage during the opening lap.

Green settled into second and initially remained within striking distance, but Ingram Hill controlled the pace at the front and prevented the Elite Motorsport driver from applying sustained pressure.

Ingram Hill pulls clear for maiden win

The leading pair remained relatively close through the first half of the nine-lap race, with Green shadowing Ingram Hill as both drivers began to separate themselves from the battle behind.

However, Ingram Hill increased his pace as the race developed. The Fortec driver gradually extended his advantage and moved beyond Green’s immediate reach during the closing stages.

He eventually crossed the line 2.688 seconds clear to claim his first GB4 victory and first podium of the 2026 season.

The result also provided an immediate response to his Race 1 frustration, when contact with Green had effectively ended his hopes of converting his maiden pole position into a victory.

Green returns to podium

Green secured second and revived his championship challenge after a difficult run of recent results.

The Elite Motorsport driver had not stood on the podium since Race 2 at Oulton Park, while his Race 1 retirement from contention at Silverstone allowed championship leader Alex O’Grady to strengthen his advantage.

Although Green could not stay with Ingram Hill during the second half of Race 2, he remained comfortably clear of the battle for third and secured an important points haul.

His runner-up finish also represented a strong recovery from Saturday’s disappointment and kept him involved in the fight near the top of the standings.

Hilton withstands Byrne for fifth straight podium

Behind the leading pair, Hilton faced significant pressure as he attempted to extend his podium streak.

The Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing driver started ahead of Byrne, but the Pace Performance racer made rapid progress from sixth and soon positioned himself directly behind Hilton.

Byrne remained close for most of the race and repeatedly threatened the final podium position. However, Hilton defended successfully and prevented him from finding a way through.

Hilton eventually finished 0.643s ahead of Byrne and claimed third. After winning Race 1, the result gave him his fifth consecutive GB4 podium and continued his strong mid-season form.

Byrne nevertheless recovered well from his opening-race retirement and secured fourth after starting sixth.

O’Grady limits championship damage

O’Grady lost a position to Byrne during the early stages and consequently dropped to fifth.

The KMR Sport driver could not recover the place but still secured another solid points finish. With his championship rivals unable to maximise every available opportunity, fifth allowed O’Grady to continue protecting his advantage at the top of the standings.

Behind him, Fortec enjoyed another strong result as Franciszek Cegielski finished sixth. The Rookie driver continued his impressive Silverstone weekend and gave the team two cars inside the top six.

Josh McLean followed in seventh for Pace Performance after defending the position during a busy opening phase.

Del Grosso charges into top eight

Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso produced one of the strongest recovery drives in the field.

The Elite Motorsport driver started 11th but gained three places to finish eighth, adding another points-scoring result for the team alongside Green’s second place.

Dayton Coulthard finished ninth for Douglas Motorsport, while Matan Achituv gave Elite a third car inside the top 10.

Connor Willis led the next group in 11th, ahead of Hillspeed teammate Enzo Hallman and Arden Motorsport’s Michael Koh.

Further back, Rookie Jordyn Martin finished 14th for Fortec ahead of Jamie Leverton. William Rohan, Lily-May Watkins and John O’Donnell completed the next positions.

Bullard records only retirement

Archie Bullard recorded the race’s only retirement after completing four laps for Fox Motorsport.

The remainder of the classified runners reached the chequered flag, with Faris Organji leading Demitri Nolan, Romuald Bocquet, Archie Davies and Solenn Amrouche in the lower midfield.

Jasser Iskander and Enzo Rujugiro finished 24th and 25th respectively, while Caitlyn McDaniel completed the classified runners in 26th.

Holly Miall and Conor Grant did not start the race.
