The 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) Asia powered by AWS title fight tightened considerably during the third event of the season at Fuji International Speedway.
David Chen Weian and Liu Kaishun claimed Race 1 victory for Harmony Racing, while Shigekazu Wakisaka and Ryo Ogawa finished second and secured Pro-Am honours for LM Corsa. Lyu Wei and Laurin Heinrich then completed the podium for Origine Motorsport.
Origine struck back in Race 2 as Heinrich and Lyu overcame their success penalty to take victory. Anthony Liu Xu and Dorian Boccolacci charged from 15th to second for Phantom Global Racing, while Ruan Cun Fan and Max Hesse completed the podium for Team KRC.
Consequently, Huang Ruohan and Alessandro Ghiretti retained the overall championship lead, but Lyu reduced their advantage to only four points. Meanwhile, several class battles also tightened as the championship reached its halfway point.
Huang and Ghiretti retain narrow Drivers’ Championship lead
Huang and Ghiretti remain at the top of the overall Drivers’ Championship with 80 points after the six races at Sepang, Mandalika and Fuji.

Lyu capitalised fully for Origine Motorsport. Third place in Race 1 and victory alongside Heinrich in Race 2 lifted him to 76 points, leaving him only four behind the leaders.
Anthony Liu also closed the gap after Boccolacci helped him recover from 15th on the Race 2 grid to finish second. He now holds third with 72 points, only eight behind Huang and Ghiretti.
Further back, Cheng Congfu and Yu Kuai share fourth on 54 points. Boccolacci follows on 47, while Ruan’s Race 2 podium moved him to 43. Heinrich also entered the top 10 after scoring 40 points across his first weekend of the season.
