Practice 1 at round 8 of the 2026 IndyCar season at Detroit has been completed, view the full results here.

Meyer Shank Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist came into it as the latest race winner. The Swede won his first Indy 500 last Sunday in absolutely remarking circumstances, defeating David Malukas by the closest margin in its history.

There was an early red flag as Marcus Ericsson was dropping fluid on the track. A long track inspection took place to make sure cars would not be sliding off from it.
