Qualifying for round 9 of the 2026 IndyCar season has been completed at Gateway, view the full results here.
In Practice 1, Pato O’Ward put in a very late lap to beat Alex Palou to top spot. Rinus VeeKay had a trip to the wall but the impact was light, meaning his broken rear wing and left rear would be fixed in time for qualifying.
Once more, Alex Palou powered to pole position with an average that was over 1 mph quicker than David Malukas and Kyle Kirkwood.
Meyer Shank Racing continued to show incredible pace on a different type of oval following the Indy 500 win 13 days ago. Both cars finished inside the top 6. Scott McLaughlin split them.
Dixon, Newgarden, O’Ward and Rossi completed the top 10.
