Sébastien Bourdais put Cadillac Hertz Team Jota on top in Free Practice 4 (FP4) for the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Frenchman set a 3:26.843 in the #38 Cadillac V-Series.R. As a result, he finished 0.194s clear of Robin Frijns in the #20 BMW M Team WRT entry. Toyota Racing completed the top three with the #7 GR010 Hybrid. Meanwhile, the sister #12 Cadillac placed fourth.

The one-hour session followed a dramatic Hyperpole evening at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Therefore, outright lap time was only part of the story. Teams also used FP4 for night-running checks, traffic practice, pit stop preparations and final setup work before race day.

Track conditions were dry throughout the session. The official classification listed a track temperature of 22.10°C and an air temperature of 17.10°C. Several cars also lost lap times for track limits, while car #13 had laps deleted following Stewards Decision No. 131.

Bourdais puts Cadillac back on top

Cadillac responded to its Hyperpole frustration by ending FP4 fastest.

Bourdais delivered the session-best lap in the #38 Cadillac Hertz Team Jota entry. His 3:26.843 came on the car’s final lap of the session. It also made the #38 Cadillac the only car to dip below the 3:27 mark.

That was a strong response from the #38 crew after its Hyperpole disappointment. Earlier in the evening, Jack Aitken had lost a lap that would have been good enough for pole. However, FP4 gave the Cadillac camp an immediate chance to reset. Bourdais took that opportunity and returned the car to the top of the timing screens.

Frijns followed in second for BMW M Team WRT. He set a 3:27.037 in the #20 BMW, just 0.194s behind Bourdais. Therefore, BMW still showed competitive pace after taking Hypercar pole with the sister #15 car.

Meanwhile, Toyota showed improved form under the lights. Mike Conway placed the #7 Toyota third with a 3:27.146. That was particularly notable after both Toyota GR010 Hybrids missed the Hyperpole 2 cut.

Cadillac, Toyota and Alpine show late-night pace

Cadillac placed two cars inside the top four. Norman Nato put the #12 Cadillac Hertz Team Jota entry fourth with a 3:27.282. As a result, Cadillac ended final practice with both Jota-run cars near the front.

Alpine Endurance Team followed in fifth with the #35 A424. That continued Alpine’s strong week after the same car had topped Hyperpole 1. The #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P was sixth, while the #101 Cadillac WTR entry placed seventh.

Ferrari AF Corse took eighth with the #51 car. Meanwhile, both Peugeot TotalEnergies entries completed the top ten. The #94 Peugeot finished ninth, ahead of the #93 Peugeot in tenth.

However, not every Hyperpole frontrunner chased headline times. The pole-winning #15 BMW M Team WRT car finished only 15th. It ended FP4 2.722s off Bourdais’ benchmark. Still, the session order reflected race preparation more than pure qualifying speed.

2026 FIA WEC: 24 Hours of Le Mans: FP4: LMGT3

TF Sport leads Corvette one-two

TF Sport topped LMGT3 in FP4 with the #33 Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R.

Jonny Edgar set the class benchmark with a 3:55.262. That lap put the TF Sport entry 0.314s clear of the #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF Corvette. Therefore, Corvette ended final practice with a one-two in LMGT3.

It was a useful session for the Corvette runners. The #33 TF Sport car had already shown consistent pace across the week. Meanwhile, the #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF entry responded well after its earlier qualifying setback.

The #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin followed in third with a 3:55.621. That gave Heart of Racing another strong classification result after its #27 sister car had taken LMGT3 pole in Hyperpole.

The #13 13 Autosport Corvette placed fourth. Garage 59 then completed the top five with its #10 McLaren. As a result, Chevrolet, Aston Martin and McLaren all featured inside the class top five.

Ferrari and Mercedes-AMG remain close

Behind the leading Corvettes, the LMGT3 field remained tightly grouped.

Iron Lynx placed its #61 Mercedes-AMG sixth with a 3:56.317. Vista AF Corse followed with the #21 Ferrari in seventh and the #54 Ferrari in eighth. The gap between the two Vista AF Corse cars was only 0.069s.

Kessel Racing then slotted into ninth with the #74 Ferrari. It finished just 0.002s behind the #54 Vista AF Corse entry. The #79 Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG completed the top ten, giving Mercedes-AMG two cars inside the first ten.

However, the #27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin did not set a time. That car had secured LMGT3 pole earlier in Hyperpole. Therefore, its lack of a representative lap did not reflect its proven pace.

2026 FIA WEC: 24 Hours of Le Mans: FP4: LMP2

AF Corse heads final practice

AF Corse led the LMP2 order in FP4. The #183 Oreca 07-Gibson topped the class with a 3:36.111. It finished 0.690s clear of the #30 Duqueine Team car. Therefore, AF Corse ended the final full practice session with the LMP2 benchmark.

That was a strong late-session result for the Pro/Am entry. It also showed that several LMP2 contenders were still able to produce competitive times under night conditions.

Duqueine Team followed in second. The #30 Oreca had already featured strongly earlier in the event, and its FP4 pace confirmed another solid showing. CLX Motorsport placed third with the #37 Oreca on a 3:37.146.

Meanwhile, IDEC Sport finished fourth after taking LMP2 pole earlier in the evening. Inter Europol Competition completed the top five with the #43 Oreca. TDS Racing, Algarve Pro Racing, United Autosports, CrowdStrike Racing by APR, and DKR Engineering followed.

Pro/Am runners show strongly

Pro/Am entries featured strongly in final practice. AF Corse led the class overall with the #183 car. Meanwhile, TDS Racing placed sixth and Algarve Pro Racing followed in seventh. That meant three Pro/Am entries finished inside the top seven in LMP2.

Forestier Racing by Panis had topped Hyperpole 2 in LMP2. However, the #29 car finished only 13th in FP4. Still, that was not necessarily a concern. By this stage of the event, many teams had shifted focus away from single-lap pace.

Instead, race setup became the priority. Teams also needed to check visibility, tyre behaviour and consistency in traffic. Therefore, the FP4 order should be read differently from a qualifying or Hyperpole classification.

LMP2 classification — FP4

  1. Oreca #183 — AF Corse — 3:36.111 — 14 laps
  2. Oreca #30 — Duqueine Team — 3:36.801 — 12 laps

What comes next at Le Mans

FP4 gave the field one final night-running opportunity before Saturday’s warm-up and the race.

Cadillac ended the session with the headline time. However, BMW, Toyota, Alpine and Ferrari remained close inside the top eight. Therefore, the final Hypercar practice order gave little certainty before race day.

In LMGT3, TF Sport and Racing Team Turkey by TF produced a Corvette one-two. Meanwhile, Heart of Racing, 13 Autosport and Garage 59 also showed useful late-night pace. Ferrari and Mercedes-AMG also kept several cars inside the top ten.

In LMP2, AF Corse led the way ahead of Duqueine Team and CLX Motorsport. However, several pole contenders appeared more focused on race preparation than single-lap performance. Therefore, the class remains difficult to judge before the start.

The 15-minute warm-up will give teams one final systems check on Saturday. After that, the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans will begin at 16:00 local time.

Therefore, the race now arrives with momentum spread across several teams and categories. Cadillac holds the final practice benchmark, but the 24-hour fight remains wide open.
