The second round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) reshaped the standings of both title races at Spa-Francorchamps. BMW transformed an aggressive strategy into a landmark Hypercar one-two, while Garage 59 rebounded from Imola disappointment to claim LMGT3 victory.

As a result, the championship picture has shifted significantly after Belgium. BMW now leads the Hypercar Manufacturers’ standings, while René Rast and Robin Frijns have moved to the top of the Drivers’ table. In LMGT3, however, consistency continues to reward The Bend Manthey, which retains the championship lead despite finishing third at Spa.

Toyota, which opened the season with victory at Imola, scored 12 points in Belgium and remains close behind on 52. Ferrari added 15 points through the No. 50 car’s podium finish and sits third on 42, while Aston Martin moved ahead of Alpine after its strongest result of the season so far.

BMW rises, but title races remain open

Spa-Francorchamps has reshaped the early 2026 championship picture. BMW now leads Hypercar after turning strategy into a landmark one-two, while Rast and Frijns sit atop the Drivers’ standings.

In LMGT3, The Bend Manthey continues to benefit from consistency, but Garage 59 has established itself as a major threat after its Belgian breakthrough.

With the 24 Hours of Le Mans next on the calendar, the championship enters its most important phase with both title battles still finely balanced.
