Fox Motorsport driver Archie Bullard delivered another encouraging step forward during 2026 GB4 Championship testing at Oulton Park, as the rookie continued to adapt quickly to life in single-seaters.

The 19-year-old enjoyed his most competitive showing of the season so far across the two-day test, consistently running closer to the front of the field. Moreover, Bullard secured a best result of 15th and, for the first time in his GB4 career, finished within two seconds of the fastest lap times in every session.

After a challenging opening round at Silverstone, the British driver arrived at Oulton Park determined to continue his development. Consequently, his growing confidence behind the wheel translated into stronger pace throughout the test programme.

Bullard highlights noticeable improvement since 2026 GB4 official test

Bullard immediately highlighted the progress he had made since the previous official GB4 test at the Cheshire circuit.

“Since we were last here at the official test, it’s been another big improvement,” he said to GB4. “I was about P24 or P25 [in the official test], and I’ve been mingling around the top 15 now. It’s been good, a few unlucky bits, a disaster yesterday, but we got it all fixed, and we are looking good for Qualifying.”

The Fox Motorsport driver opened Thursday strongly by finishing 15th and 16th in the opening two sessions. In addition, he averaged around 1.6 seconds away from the leading pace, underlining the gains he had made in a short period.

However, his momentum briefly stalled during the third session when he spun into the gravel. As a result, he missed the fourth session of the day while the team repaired the car.

Bullard responds positively after Oulton Park setback

Despite the interruption, Bullard returned to the circuit on Friday with renewed confidence. He immediately resumed his encouraging form and ended the opening session of the day in 18th position, just 1.757 seconds behind session leader Alex O’Grady of KMR Sport.

Importantly, Bullard credited his progress to a stronger mindset and increased self-belief as he continues his transition from karting into single-seater racing.

“It is all just mental work and actually believing that I can be quick,” he said. “At the start, it is quite daunting jumping in a GB4 car and compete against more experienced drivers. It’s quite hard coming from rentals [karting] but I think I can mingle in the top 15.”

The rookie also stressed that only minor adjustments remain as he prepares for Qualifying and the opening races of the weekend.

“I have a few things to work on, but it’s easily fixed overnight, it’s not going to take weeks and weeks to fix. We’re looking good and aiming for a good result.”

Focus turns towards Qualifying and Race Day

With testing complete, Bullard now shifts his attention towards Saturday’s slightly extended 20-minute Qualifying session, scheduled to begin at 11:05. Later in the afternoon, the first race of the weekend will start at 15:00.

Furthermore, the young Briton expressed excitement about racing wheel-to-wheel around the demanding Oulton Park circuit, which regularly produces close and aggressive battles.

“I’ve been briefed about how tight and close the wheel-to-wheel racing gets around here,” he said. “I like getting wheel-to-wheel with other drivers, but it’s a whole different kettle of fish in single-seaters [than karting]. You can’t wheel-bang or anything like that, but I’m just looking forward to it.”

As Bullard’s confidence continues to grow, the Oulton Park weekend could mark another important milestone in his rookie GB4 campaign.
