According to a report by The Race, Cupra Kiro issued a disciplinary warning to Dan Ticktum following the Monaco E-Prix.

Dan Ticktum’s warning reportedly follows a series of incidents during Monaco E-Prix. Although Ticktum secured two pole positions, penalties and race setbacks limited him to just six championship points. His most recent outing came during the Berlin E-Prix double-header, where Cupra Kiro narrowly missed out on points.

The report states that Ticktum’s conduct prompted internal action from Cupra Kiro. As a result, the Briton has received what is understood to be his second formal reprimand of the season.

Dan Ticktum warning follows Monaco Review

The Race reports Cupra Kiro’s review process extends beyond Monaco and forms part of mid-season assessment, including Madrid and Berlin.

Team Principal Russell O’Hagan confirmed the team’s position: “We have reviewed a number of topics with Dan openly since Monaco and are issuing a second formal reprimand of the season.

The disciplinary action reflects the team’s concerns following the Monaco weekend. O’Hagan added: “We will be working together to adopt an improved approach, with more of what we need from him.

Reportedly, Ticktum left Monaco circuit shortly after Race 1, missing mandatory media commitments and the team’s post-race debrief.

O’Hagan outlines expectations for Ticktum

Expanding on Dan Ticktum’s warning, O’Hagan explained that the team had reviewed both its own performance and Ticktum’s approach.

He said: “Having taken some time since Monaco to review the season to date, we have two clear takeaways.”

The first, according to O’Hagan, relates to extracting stronger race results from a driver who has consistently demonstrated strong one-lap pace.

He said: “One is to really understand how we are approaching everything holistically with Dan. We are incredibly quick over one lap in all sessions, but falling short of our potential in the races, where the points are awarded.”

The second concerns professionalism and conduct within the team environment. The internal review focused on both performance and conduct standards within the team.

O’Hagan added: “The second point is to ensure Dan’s frustrations and energy are harnessed constructively. We understand them, but as a team, we expect everyone to uphold the standards of professionalism, respect and teamwork that are fundamental to how we operate and best perform as an organisation.”

Despite Dan Ticktum’s warning, O’Hagan reiterated the team’s support for him.

He said: “He is a hugely talented driver and a very important part of the team. We trust that the process we are now in will deliver improvements from him on and off track, and we can have a very strong second half of the season together.”

Monaco events led to Dan Ticktum’s Warning

The Race also reports that the disciplinary action comes amid ongoing discussions regarding Cupra Kiro’s future driver line-up.

There has been no immediate decision regarding Ticktum’s future yet. The report suggests that the team is evaluating several options ahead of the upcoming Gen4 era.

The situation follows earlier controversy during the Mexico City E-Prix. Ticktum’s radio comments resulted in Formula E CEO holding discussions with the driver.

Although Ticktum remains one of Formula E’s standout qualifying performers, particularly after securing two pole positions in Monaco, questions now remain over whether the relationship between driver and team can stabilise through the remainder of the season.

The Dan Ticktum warning represents one of the most significant internal developments at Cupra Kiro this Formula E season.

For now, Cupra Kiro appears committed to working with Ticktum while expecting improved conduct and stronger execution as the Formula E campaign continues.

The reprimand has placed additional attention on Ticktum’s role within the organisation heading into the second half of the Formula E season.
