Hillspeed has confirmed Demitri Nolan as its first driver for the 2027 GB4 season, with the American set to remain with the Markham Vale squad for a second full campaign in the championship.
The agreement was announced ahead of this weekend’s penultimate 2026 round at Donington Park, where Nolan claimed his maiden GB4 podium earlier this season. The early renewal gives both driver and team continuity before the current campaign has even concluded, with a winter testing programme set to follow once the season ends.
Notably, Nolan has scored points in 12 of the opening 15 races of his rookie year and still has six races remaining, split across Donington Park and the Brands Hatch GP finale later this month.
Nolan extends Hillspeed relationship into 2027
Nolan joined Hillspeed for his first season of racing outside the United States and has made steady progress throughout his rookie GB4 campaign. His strongest weekend so far came during the championship’s previous visit to Donington, where he finished fourth in Race 1 before securing second place in Race 3.
That result marked his maiden podium in the category and underlined the progress he has made since first testing with Hillspeed several years ago. With two events still remaining in 2026, the team has moved early to secure that continuity rather than waiting until the winter to finalise its first signing.
The deal also allows Nolan to approach the closing stages of this season with his future already settled. He and Hillspeed can now use the remaining races to continue refining their working relationship before beginning a more extensive preparation programme for 2027.
Ollerenshaw praises Nolan’s development
Hillspeed Team Principal Richard Ollerenshaw believes Nolan’s improvement throughout 2026 made retaining him an important part of the team’s plans for next season.
“We are absolutely delighted to have retained Demitri for the 2027 GB4 Championship. To agree a deal so soon, with two events still to run of the current season, is fantastic news for everyone at Hillspeed and we really are over the moon to be able to continue working together. Demitri has made some quite exceptional progress this season and we’re sure he will make even bigger strides next year in his second season of GB4, as we continue the great relationship we have built.”
The agreement gives Hillspeed an early foundation for its 2027 line-up while the team continues to fight for strong results through the end of the current campaign.
Nolan welcomes early 2027 confirmation
Nolan also welcomed the chance to continue with the same team into his sophomore GB4 season, believing the early confirmation will help provide stability as he builds on everything learned during his rookie year.
“I really am so happy, with the support of Nic [Jonsson] and the guys at KDE Management, to have re-signed with Hillspeed for next season in GB4. I’ve learned so much this year and we’ve shown some very strong progress, the highlight so far obviously being the Donington podium in the summer. We’re all determined to build on all I’ve learned this season, which has probably been the most competitive ever season in GB4, and looking forward to the continuity which putting our 2027 plans in place so early will bring. As this year, I’m delighted to have the opportunity to again represent Hillspeed in GB4.”
The 2027 campaign will give Nolan the benefit of familiarity across circuits, personnel and the wider championship environment, reducing the adaptation required compared with his first year in Britain.
Nolan arrived in GB4 after US single-seater experience
Before moving into GB4, Nolan competed successfully in the F4 United States Championship during 2025. He finished sixth in the standings and claimed a podium at Virginia International Raceway before making the move across the Atlantic.
His single-seater career began one year earlier in the Ligier Junior Formula Championship, also known as the Ligier JS F4 Series. Nolan recorded a best result of fourth at New Jersey Motorsports Park and completed his debut car racing season inside the championship top 10.
Those campaigns provided the foundation for his transition to British competition with Hillspeed. His 2026 season has since added experience of unfamiliar circuits, a different racing environment and one of the deepest GB4 grids the category has seen.
Donington provides immediate chance to continue progress
Nolan now returns to the venue of his maiden GB4 podium with his future already confirmed.
Three races take place at Donington this weekend before the season concludes with another triple-header on the Brands Hatch GP circuit. Nolan therefore has six opportunities remaining to add to his current tally of 12 points finishes and potentially return to the podium before turning his full attention towards 2027.
For Hillspeed, retaining Nolan gives the team a driver it already knows well and a clear base from which to build its next campaign. For Nolan, the second season offers the opportunity to convert the experience gained during his rookie year into a more sustained challenge near the front of the GB4 field.
