Once again it was Dennis Hauger starting on pole position, with Calo Collet on the front row beside him for a second straight event. Could he pass him for the victory like in Road America?

When the race went green, Hauger got a perfect start. Behind them, Collet held Hughes off. The Aussie went side-by-side with Pierson for a few corners before winning our into turn 9. That left the door open for de Alba to get a run to take P4 into turn 11.

Myles Rowe dropped to the back as he had a first lap to forget after having wheel-to-wheel contact with Miller at turn 9.

Hauger, Collet, Hughes, de Alba, Pierson, Hedge, Correa, Missig, Aron and Papasavvas was the top 10 after the opening tour.

On lap 3, Papasavvas got the high ground on Bryce Aron into 5 as he got alongside, and he completed the move into turn 6 with a lovely pass for 9th. Miller quickly followed him through.

However, a huge scare came on lap 4. As Murray looked to demote Aron another spot, he got a fraction wide out of turn 3 and lost momentum. It allowed Escotto to get a run on him. The Scottish driver eased across on the Mexican, leading to massive contact and a truly shocking crash.

Murray flipped as both cars picked up a significant amount of damage. Incredibly both drivers walked away uninjured, a testament to the safety of these machines.

The people in the flag stand were lucky not to see their perch come crashing down as Murray’s flipping car almost hit it.

Unsurprisingly, the race was red flagged due to the debris strewn all over the track. After a delay of over 40 minutes to repair barriers and clear debris, the race resumed.

On the restart, Myles Rowe started to come back through the field and worked his way back up to 12th by passing Niels Koolen and James Roe. He continued the charge with a brilliant pass on Bryce Aron into turn 1 for P11.

Nolan Allaer got a drive-through penalty for not staying in line as the restart commenced.

As Myles Rowe attempted to go past Miller into turn 4, he got a small bit deep and took a trip through the dirt. He stayed in 11th but dropped over 3s away.

In the fight for P7, Juan Manuel Correa tried to defend the inside into turn 4 but locked up and ran fractionally wide, handing the spot to Missig as the American got it done into turn 5.

Down at the tricky turn 4, Tommy Smith got deep and took a brief trip through the gravel and grass.

Once again, Myles Rowe pulled off a stunning overtake as he passed Miller into turn 1 for 10th with a brave, bold move. The dramatic race for him then continued. He tried to send it down the inside of Papasavvas into turn 4 but could not quite get it stopped and found himself in the dirt again. He remained P10, however.

At the front, Dennis Hauger pulled the pin late in the race to drive away from Caio Collet, taking the win by over 3 seconds. Hughes rounded out the podium as he was almost a further 3 seconds back.

de Alba, Pierson, Hedge, Missig, Correa, Papasavvas and Rowe completed the top 10.
