GB4 Championship’s Jordyn Martin has been selected to participate in the 2026 F1 Academy Rookie Test at Circuito de Navarra from 9–11 September.
The 15-year-old American has impressed during her rookie GB4 campaign, regularly competing inside the midfield while establishing herself as both one of the championship’s leading rookies and its highest-scoring female driver.
Martin will be one of 18 female drivers taking part in the test, which will provide competitors with official running in F1 Academy machinery alongside experience of the preparation and activities that take place behind the scenes during a race programme.
Martin impresses during rookie GB4 campaign
Martin has made steady progress during her first season in GB4 and has already qualified inside the top 15 on eight occasions.
Her strongest Qualifying performance came at Donington Park in June, where she secured third on the grid.
The Fortec Motorsports driver has also recorded nine top-15 finishes during the campaign, helping establish herself as one of the stronger rookies in the 2026 field.
Her consistency has additionally made her the highest-scoring female driver in the championship.
The Navarra opportunity arrives while Martin remains one of the youngest competitors in contention for future progression. She will still be 15 when the Rookie Test concludes and is due to turn 16 only a few days later.
F1 Academy Rookie Test offers first official running
Martin’s participation at Navarra will give her the opportunity to drive an F1 Academy car during dedicated rookie sessions.
The three-day programme will extend beyond track running, with drivers also gaining an understanding of the preparation required around an F1 Academy event.
Each participant will work with an allocated team and experience elements of the engineering, operational and organisational processes that take place before and during official sessions.
Martin joins 17 other emerging female drivers from around the world selected for the programme.
Loughborough training camp precedes Navarra test
Before travelling to Spain, Martin will also attend the F1 Academy Rookie Training Camp at Loughborough University from 25–27 August.
The programme will include physiological profiling, cognitive testing and performance screening designed to assess the drivers across several areas relevant to elite motorsport.
Loughborough University specialists will also deliver seminars and interactive workshops covering strength and conditioning, performance lifestyle and resilience.
The training camp will additionally focus on the behaviours required to succeed in elite sport, giving the drivers preparation beyond their work behind the wheel.
Another opportunity in Martin’s development
The selection adds another significant experience to Martin’s first full GB4 campaign.
Her season has already included a front-row-level Qualifying performance at Donington Park and regular top-15 results against a competitive field. The F1 Academy Rookie Test will now give her an opportunity to experience different machinery and work within another professional single-seater environment.
With the Loughborough programme followed by three days at Navarra, September will provide Martin with another important step as she continues building experience during the early stages of her single-seater career.
